Samsung Galaxy S8 to release in mid-April

Samsung will be unveiling their next flagship, the Galaxy S8 at the MWC 2017 next month. There is a lot riding on the success of that smartphone. This would be Samsung’s chance to redeem themselves by presenting an impeccable device with premium specs. Usually Samsung starts shipping its devices three to four weeks after the announcement of the smartphone, but this time around they will be releasing the devices in the middle of April.

This means that there is a seven week gap between the unveiling and the release of the device in global markets. Samsung has pushed the date as they want to work on testing the device for any issues that may occur. They have a target of shipping 60 million Galaxy S8 units and they have placed orders with their suppliers for this. Mass production of the units will start in March and it is expected that on April 18th the consumers will get their hands on Galaxy S8. This has motivated LG to push their release schedule for LG G6 for 10th March so that they can take advantage of the time frame and tip sales in their favor.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will have an edge-to-edge display and there is a probability that the Galaxy S8 Plus will come with an S-Pen, so people who had to return the Note 7 due to the recall, have an option. Apart from that it will be equipped with the powerful Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 835 chipset, which will be paired with Mali-G71 GPU. More news and updates about one of the most anticipated devices of the year will be making rounds in the coming days.
