Every day we get to hear something interesting about Samsung Galaxy S8. Given that this is one smartphone that industry analysts will be scrutinizing very carefully, this isn’t something new especially if it has something to do with its battery. A new report by Investor suggests that Samsung Galaxy S8 will be powered by 3000mAh and 3500mAh batteries.
Samsung as per tradition will be announcing two variants of the S-flagship, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. Galaxy S8 will pack a 3000mAh battery and Galaxy S8 Plus will have a 3500mAh battery. Galaxy S8 Plus battery capacity is similar to what Galaxy Note 7 had. Battery comparisons to Note 7 is bound to raise some red flags but given Samsung’s intensive investigations into faulty batteries of Note 7 and then an 8-point safety check, we sure hope that the same issue do not occur.
The Korean tech giant will be procuring batteries from a Japanese supplier Murata Manufacturers alongside Samsung SDI. Last time around Samsung for Note 7 got their batteries from China’s ATL and Samsung SDI. Rumors suggest that this time around ATL will not be one of the suppliers but we do not have any official confirmation about this.
To stay in the game Samsung needs to ensure that the produced devices are perfect and do not explode. The launch of Galaxy S8 was also delayed as the company wants to ensure that nothing goes wrong. Samsung will be unveiling Galaxy S8 on 29th March but a teaser will be shown at the MWC to build up the anticipation for the next event.
