Samsung Galaxy S8 in all its glory

With the announcements at the Mobile World Congress  out of the way, we are looking forward to the next flagship announcement over the horizon, Samsung Galaxy S8. With just a month to go till its official announcement the leaks and rumors are coming in hot. Earlier this week we got to see two videos showing the device in action and today we have seen its press render and another sneak peak at the device. Now we have a set of images of the most anticipated device of the year, Galaxy S8 from BGR which show the device from different angles.

As with the Galaxy-S flagship, Samsung traditionally announces two variants, one with a flat screen display and the other one with a dual curved display. This time around both the variants will have a dual curved display as Sammy plans on making it a trademark for their flagship. The only difference will the display size, with Galaxy S8 having a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display and Galaxy S8+ having a 6.2–inch super AMOLED display. The set of images leaked by BGR features the Galaxy S8.

A few details that can be noted in the images is that the top bezel is thicker than the lower bezel and the reason for that is that the from camera along with the iris scanner and other sensors are placed there. In addition, along with the front, at the rear the device will also have a curved display that ends up giving the device a sleeker look.

As far as the rest of the specs go, Galaxy S8 models that will be shipped in USA will be equipped with Snapdragon 835 and the devices in the other markets will get Samsung’s own Exynos 8895 processor. This model looks like an American model, as you can see an AT&T app at the home screen. Along with that it will sport a 12MP dual pixel camera which will be similar to the one used in Galaxy S7, which no doubt produces some stunning images. The fingerprint sensor will also be found at the rear of the device along side the camera.

One of the features that will be making its debut along the Galaxy S8 will be Samsung’s own voice based AI assistant Bixby. It will have its own dedicated button and is based on the S-Voice technology. As evident from these images that Samsung has not gotten rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack, despite the earlier rumors that it will jumping the Apple bandwagon, fans are going to be happy about this. Along with that the device will have IP68 dust and water resistant certification.

Samsung will be officially announcing Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on 29th March and the device will be hitting markets on 21st April globally, so mark your calender’s.
