We told you earlier that Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Round. The device features a curved display with a curved body. Samsung has already declared that they will be releasing the device in South Korea first. Today, a report came out that reveals that the Samsung Galaxy Round is actually just a prototype and Samsung will only be producing a limited units.
The price of the device is declared to be $1,000 USD and may be this is the reason as to why Samsung is preparing limited units of the Samsung Galaxy Round. This makes me wonder if the device will ever make its way to the US. I believe it wouldn’t be surprising if it doesn’t. It’s said that while Samsung officially announced the phone and will release it to the public, it’s essentially just a prototype device being used to test out curved OLED displays. Now that’s a pretty convincing argument, no?
Samsung Galaxy Round, with its features almost same as that of Note 3’s, is different from the Note 3 only when it comes to the S Pen feature and obviously the curved screen of the Galaxy Round. To read all about the Samsung Galaxy Round, click here.
As the Samsung Galaxy Round will see a limited run, it could open doors for similar devices in the future. Now we can’t say if Samsung will be making efforts toward the next device of the type (if any at all I mean) or any other manufacturer but, one thing is for sure, Samsung is interested in curved OLED display technology, and we could expect seeing more from them in the future.
