Samsung is well-known for setting the trends in the Android world. Earlier with the S3 Mini, Samsung introduced a new concept and a very nice trend of the Mini device, which was soon followed by the other manufacturers and we saw the mini versions of the flagship devices by HTC, Sony and LG. Last year, Samsung introduced another new trend in the smartphone world with its first camera phone, that followed it’s former flagship, the Galaxy S4. The Galaxy S4 originally sported a 13 MP camera sensor at the back, but the Camera variant, Galaxy S4 Zoom has a 16 MP shooter fixed at the back with 10x optical zoom.
Rumors about the Galaxy S5 Zoom started streaming around before the official release of the Galaxy S5, but there wasn’t any prominent leak suggesting the existence of the Zoom variant. Earlier, some rumors surfaced about the change in the name of the device that suggested us about the Galaxy S5 Zoom as Galaxy K, as the Korean giant wanted to differentiate its device and give a birth to a completely new series, like it did with the variant of Galaxy S4 by introducing it as Galaxy J in Japan.
It was also speculated that the Galaxy S5 zoom will be even more compact then the Galaxy S4 Zoom, what has added more to the speculation is the recently leaked picture of the Zoom variant of the S5. The image shows that Galaxy S5 Zoom is much more compact than that of its predecessor even after getting wrapped up in a silicon back-case.
The leaked specifications of the Galaxy S5 Zoom include Samsung’s Exynos 5 Hexa Chipset (six core CPU), while the RAM will be as same as that of the S5, 2GB. The device will sport a 4.8” inch HD Super AMOLED screen, and a 20 MP Camera shooter with 10x optical zoom at it’s back while the front came will remain as 2 MP. The device will most likely run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box having Samsung’s own TouchWiz UI atop.
Galaxy S5 K is expected to come out of the curtains on 29th of April, 2014. Till then, the rumor mills will be getting fueled up and we’ll be having something new to have a look at every minute.
That’s all we know for now, stay tuned with us for more updates about the Galaxy S5 Zoom.
