Rumor Has It: LG V30 with Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM and dual camera under development

LG will be unveiling their new flagship, LG G6 at the Mobile World Congress on 26th February. The company has adopted an ingenious marketing strategy to create hype for the product. To date we have seen its renders, prototypes and live images which don’t leave much to the imagination and apart from that LG itself has been busy sending out teasers as to what we can expect from the device. Even though LG has yet to announce LG G6, rumors related to its next smartphone in line, LG V30 have started making rounds at the rumor mills.

LG V20

LG introduced the V-series in 2015 when it announced LG V10 which was their take on the phablet category. Last year after the lackluster sales of LG G5, the company worked on making LG V20 exceptional. The device in terms of specs was good but somehow failed to impress consumers if last years sales numbers are anything to go by. Now a new post on Weibo suggests that LG is planning to shift its flagship from the G series to the V-series, making LG V30 the flagship for 2017.

LG V30 will make use of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. LG was unable to get their hands on this processor for LG G6, as Samsung had gotten hold of the early supplies and equipped it with Snapdragon 821. Now making use of Snapdragon 835 chipset will be a logical choice. Along with that the rumored specs hint to a 6GB RAM which will be one of the features for flagships this year, LG G6 will also have a a 6GB RAM. In addition, the smartphone will two dual cameras, one at the back and one at the front. If this feature is materialized, it will make LG V30 the first device to have it on board.

The signature feature of dual displays will be back, but we hope that like HTC has dedicated the second display to their AI-HTC Sense Companion, LG also thinks around the same lines. LG V30 is expected to be unveiled in the Q2, our assessment puts it somewhere in late August and early September. Some new mysterious features are also hinted at. Well knowing LG, they wouldn’t be secret for much long. Well as rumors go, take this with a grain of salt as we will get to hear more about this device in the coming days.
