With Samsung bowing out of the MWC 2017, LG with its flagship LG G6 most probably is going to be the star at the show. LG has been trying its best to gain the market space left empty after the delay of Galaxy S8. For that purpose they have made use of an interesting marketing strategy in which they are giving off information in bits and pieces to create hype for their device. From promo video, safe battery report to leaked renders all are doing just that. Now LG G6 press renders are making rounds around tech town. LG’s timing is impeccable, the render was leaked hours after Samsung announced that Galaxy S8 will be a no-show at the MWC 2017.

The leaked press render shows off an impressive design with minimal bezels. This year companies are focusing on design of their devices and working on minimizing the bezels giving increasing the size of display. We can see the same design language being followed in LG G6 renders. As LG will not be making use of the modular design they made use of last year which was not successful, they have switched to something that people want slim and compact design that impresses.

Another design change that is expected by LG this time around is the use of a metal and glass design for their G6 flagship. To date they have used a plastic design , but looking at the popularity of the metal glass designs among consumers they have switched. In addition the metal glass design gives the device a premium look, this will be a welcome change. This also means that the battery will not be removable.

LG G6 will be sport a 5.7-inch display with an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio, making it taller than the other device with the same display size. In addition the company has already claimed that the battery of the LG G6 will not over heat, as they made use of copper pipes to distribute the heat. The smartphone will also have a dual camera set up at the rear with a fingerprint scanner.

LG will be unveiling the LG G6 on 26th February at the MWC, they have already rolled out invitations asking people to ‘See More, Play More’. LG G6 is LG’s chance to recover from the loss incurred due to the LG G5. As far as the leaked press renders go, they seem to be moving in the right direction to achieve just that.
