Oppo is an upcoming Chain-based smartphone manufacturer who take pride in producing innovative products. Not only does the company challenge itself every time they launch a smartphone, they try to do present something unique too, Oppo N3 and Find 5 are a testament to that statement. Within the last few years the company has garnered an international presence too and they are planning to expand to more markets this year. Oppo has started off 2015 with the unveiling of Oppo R1C, just a day ahead of Xaiomi’s launch event.
The Oppo R1C sports a 5-inch, 720 x 1280 resolution display. The smartphone will be powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, accompanied by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which will be extendable up to 128 GB. The phone features a 13-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor and a 5-megapixel selfie-shooter. Oppo R1C will support a dual-sim capability as well as 4G LTE connectivity. The smartphone will be powered by Android 4.4 KitKat based Color OS 2.0.1 and a 2420 mAh battery.
Oppo R1C will be priced at $403 and will be available for sale from 20th January, it is up for pre-order now. The smartphone will be available in two variants, one will feature a sapphire glass at its back and the non-sapphire, white version. The sapphire glass version found in the posters looks really good. The company has not yet said anything about its international availability but we may seen the smartphone roll out to other countries where Oppo has already launched its products. It will be interesting to see if Xiaomi launches anything that will prove to be Oppo R1C’s direct competitor.
