Reports out today hint that Oppo will be starting 2015 with the launch of their smartphone Oppo R1C. The device is expected to launch on 14th January in China, just a day ahead of Xiaomi’s event where the manufacturer is expected to unveil Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 and ‘ultra-thin’ Xiaomi Mi5. Oppo is known for its innovative high quality smartphones like N3 which has a motorized rotating camera and Find 7, now the company is introducing R1C which will compete with latest smartphones launched by Xiaomi, Meizu and Huaewi.
According to the rumors about Oppo’s latest offering, R1C will sport a 5-inch with a 720 x 1280 resolution. The device will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. The phone will be equipped with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which could be extended to 128 GB. R1C sports a 13-megapixel rear facing and 5-meagpixel front facing cameras. The smartphone will also support a 4G LTE connectivity. The most interesting feature that we have heard related to this smartphone is that it will sport a sapphire crystal glass rear, well if the company manages to pull that off, it will be another feather in Oppo’s cap.
The smartphone is expected to unveil in China on Wednesday. No information related to the price of the device is available yet, we will be getting all of the confirmed specs and details at the event. As per its availability in the international markets, nothing has been mentioned by the company yet but there is a high probability of this smartphone popping up in markets where Oppo has already launched its devices beforehand.
