OnePlus to introduce OxygenOS on 12th February

Just yesterday we told you that OnePlus is gearing up for an important announcement for 30th January, we did speculate of what that might be, keeping in view the hints given in the teaser poster. But it looks like we were not even close. OnePlus today announced that they will be unveiling their own ROM, the OxygenOS on 12th February.

Currently OnePlus was making use of the CyanogenOS and had gotten into trouble in the Indian market with a sales ban after Cyanogen got into partnership with Micromax. At that point the company did say that they will work on producing their own OS. In their statement given out today they have reiterated their the motto of producing ‘great technology’ and they assure their fan base that what they are working on is something they would themselves love to use. So for that purpose, they are producing a ‘software that is open, customizable, and free of bloat and unnecessary features‘.

The inspiration for the name, comes from Oxygen being one of the most vital elements on the periodic table, it’s simple yet ‘extraordinarily powerful’, this is concept that company will be working on. OxygenOS will be OnePlus take on an Android based OS. They will definitely be bringing something new to the table with that as the company believes that one should ‘Never Settle’. We will get to know more features of the powerful OxygenOS on 12 February.
