One-Click Root Method For Sony

What does the root access mean? Well here is the answer to your question.

Rooting your phone gives you complete access of all the data which is apparently locked by the manufacturers. This includes removing the factory restrictions and making changes to the internal system and the operating system. Gaining the root access gives you the privileges to install various applications to enhance the performance of your device, allows you to remove the built-in applications/programs, helps you to upgrade the battery life of your device & install the apps which require the root access for the proper functionality and modify your device in so many other ways e.g using mods and custom ROMs.

While rooting your phone, please keep it in mind that the Root Process isn’t official and has nothing to deal with Google Inc and the device manufacturer, which is Sony in our case. Follow the guide carefully to prevent any damages to the device as the method is completely custom.

Before heading to the root method, here are the must apply guidelines and  pre-requisites to prevent any data loss / damage / bricking.

  • Follow the steps to root your phone carefully, do not mess with any extra thing, this may result in malfunctioning/bricking your device. Select your device carefully from the supported devices list above, In-case your device is not listed above, this rooting method may result in bricking it.
  • As soon as you root your device, you will void the warranty of your device.
  • The warranty can be gained back using an un-root method, or by flashing a stock ROM into your phone again. Any official update will also put your warranty back.
  • Make sure to back up your internal sd card’s data, also take backup of your contacts, messages etc. Taking the backup is quite safe as the rooting may result in any kind of mishap during the procedure. You can look out for the appropriate backup applications in the Google Play Store.
  • Setup your computer, your Sony Xperia device using its data cable with the computer as you will run this tool using your computer, Before connecting your device, make sure that you enable the USB Debugging mode on your phone. you may find the USB Debugging mode in Settings > Applications >Development > USB Debugging.
  • The rooting process may take a few seconds, but it safer & recommended to have your phone charged over 60%.
  • Make sure to deactivate the windows firewall & any anti-virus program if you have before running the tool, having it activated may interrupt the root process.

Rooting Method:

  1. First of all you need the rooting package on your computer, Click here to download the one click root tool from the xda developers page.
  2. Save the file anywhere on your computer, unzip the file.
  3. After unzipping it, execute the runme.bat file.
  4. Connect your Xperia device with the computer following the guidelines explained above.
  5. Make sure that you use the official/stock USB cable for establishing the connection between your device and the computer.
  6. Now come back to the root tool, follow the directions on the tool’s screen and get the root access on your phone.
  7. As soon as the process if completed, unplug your phone and reboot it!

  1. Dear Usama, thank for your help in this matter,
I’m trying to root my device by clicking runme_win.bat (no root.bat) but for some reason nothing happens.
I then found out that I did not install the adb drivers ..!!!!
but where from I can get those drivers and where I must install them; in the pc or in the device.. (xPeria P).
    Thanks

  2. hey,

I have Sony Xperia Z which your script should reportedly
manage to root access. However this was not a case for me. I received an
error that my model is not supported. Can you please check and fix it?

    Below error log:

    Device detected: C6603
    C6603 is not supported
You need tomanage to get remap_pfn_range addresses

    Screen shot attached.

    Rgs,

    • @disqus_tO0VPQNKXG:disqus I’ve checked rooting an Xperia Z and the method worked fine. Perhaps you may try enabling the USB debug mode. I’ve also searched the forums and there is no such problem rooting this phone using the method explained above. Kindly make sure that your device is well connected, you may deactivate any anti virus and firewall applications as well.

    • @SatinderGill:disqus You can install an app ”Root App Uninstall” from the play store and uninstall any system app from your phone 🙂

    • @samisaleh:disqus All data will not be erased, it’s just a precaution to take the back up in case anything goes wrong.

  3. My Xperia P is build number 6.1.B.0.544, and I am having trouble rooting my device. Is there a way to root this device at the moment?

    • @benjwright:disqus you should try this method. It will work, if it doesn’t then nothing to worry about, it will simply show you the failed rooting status in the rooting software. Let us know and we will find a method for you if it doesn’t.

  4. My Xperia P has a locked bootloader. I have not unlocked the bootloader or done any such thing with it so far. Are there any such measures I need to take before rooting my device following the steps mentioned above?

  5. is there a way that i can run this rooting step on Xperia U 4..0.4 ICS 6.1.1.C.1.0? coz i check mostly on google, and i cant find any rooting step like this easy and fast, most of d rooting guides needs flashtool and a HUGEEEEE file size of roms to flash then u can flash it after doing long steps, please hhelp so i wont be downloading large size file just to root my xperia U.tnx masters

  6. i followed the above step. super user is also installed. this means the phne is rooted? if yes then i dont see any difference. I want can i do now to increase RAM and install Kitkat unofficially

    • @disqus_bXrAhN563n:disqus This surely makes a difference only if you install Root required apps, that can add charm to the functionality of your phone. You can install KitKat using a custom ROM, but which phone are you using? so that i can help you accordingly.

      • But if its rooted then i should be able to remove the default apps, which im inable to do so. So i dont think so it has made any difference. Can u tell me what i need to do. Im using Sony Xperia P LT22i.
