Nokia flagship could make use of a Carl Zeiss camera

The Nokia brand made quite a splash at the Mobile World Congress as the company announced Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and a ‘modern Nokia 3310’ at the event. Well it does seem like that the Nokia brand under HMD Global is set for a successful comeback, if the pre-orders for Nokia 3310 in UK are something to go by.

With HMD Global bringing a classic back, people wanted to know what more the company has up its sleeve. Would come more classic and known features making their way in the upcoming Nokia branded smartphones. In a Q/A session held last week, one of the tweeters asked the they will be using Carl Zeiss lens to which the company responded that they no longer use Carl Zeiss technology. According to a recent chat that HMD Global had with Nokia Power Users, this may not be true after all.

HMD team told us that it was meant for only officially announced Phones Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. So, that leaves option of Carl-Zeiss open on future Nokia Android Flagships.

This means that the company may very well end up using this lens in their upcoming flagship which is expected to arrive in June. To date the details for that are sketchy. The flagship will make use of Snapdragon 835 SoC and will come with both a 4GB and a 6GB RAM variant on board. As far as the camera specs go, the smartphone will use a 23-megapixel main camera which may very well turn out to be a Ziess lens. Well we sure are excited as to what will be HMD Global’s philosophy regarding the Nokia branded flagship where it will be competing with the likes of Samsung, Google, Huawei and OnePlus to name a few.
