Nokia 6 was the first Android-running smartphone from the former phone giant that was in partnership with HMD Global and offered users a device that had fantastic build quality but went away from featuring a decent-performing chipset. For those that do not know, the Nokia 6 featured a Snapdragon 430, which is slightly more powerful than your average entry-level chipset but cannot hold a candle to a Snapdragon 660.

Nokia 6 2018 to come with updated hardware, new design, and more

The updated Nokia 6, or the Nokia 2016 2018 version is expected to feature better hardware, ranging from a Snapdragon 6XX series chipset. It has not been confirmed if it will belong to the same family of SoCs that Qualcomm released with its Snapdragon 835 this year, or a powerful and more efficient variant.

What the leak suggests is that the Nokia 6 will come with a new design, with the label TA-1054 label on Baidu in China. The leak also states that the smartphone with come shipped with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. It is more than likely that the device will get expandable memory when it officially ships out but that will be confirmed once the official press release goes out.

Given below is a translation of text from Baidu, detailing the features the Nokia 6 2018 version could come with (taken from Nokiapoweruser):

“First cancel the front can not be pressed fingerprint module, changed to the post-fingerprints. By narrowing the chin, the button has also become a virtual button, which is very similar with NOKIA 7.

Second, there has been no small change in the camera module, Plate thickness between the screen to the rear shell about 6mm plus a total of 8mm protruding camera, however, Plate2 cleverly borrow NOKIA 5 camera, the rear shell and camera trim Added a roundabout transition between the camera below the layout of the fingerprint recognition!

Finally, NOKIA faith LOGO!

I stubbornly believe that the reason why the generation is highly criticized, the reason should be that 430 processor. I think the appearance of the changes at the same time, the processor upgrade for everyone is even more impatient! HMD is bound to be equipped with its processor to handle more powerful, better performance!”

The release of this smartphone could provide better performance to users seeking to buy a phone for a smaller price but still hold their loyalties true to the Nokia brand.
