Looking for something different than what Siri offers, then Microsoft’s Cortana Beta Program is making its way to the Apple App Store. Cortana is a voice activated virtual assistant by Microsoft, and now iPhone users can have an early look at the features and tweaks that are specific to the iOS platform.  The beta program at the moment is limited to USA and United Kingdom.

We’re launching a new beta program for the Cortana iOS app and want your feedback to help improve the product experience and shape the future of Cortana on mobile. It’s a limited beta for our users in the US and UK, so we will involve 1000 users to join us. If you’re interested, simply fill out the survey with your details and we’ll reply with how to enroll.

The Beta Program, gives users the chance to test the new features and then provide feed back to the developers so that by the time the finalized version of the app is made available to the public the different features have been worked on. Any bugs of other irregularities are also addressed. Cortona’s iOS program has very limited space at the moment with only 1000 users who can join it.

Virtual digital assistants are gaining popularity this year with companies like Samsung, Nokia and LG working on making this one of the key features of their devices. Samsung will be introducing Bixby with their upcoming flagship Galaxy S8 and LG will be making use of the Google Assistant, instead of bringing their own individual platform. HTC has already introduced HTC Sense Companion, with their new smartphone HTC U Ultra. In addition to this Amazon’s Alexa was quite popular at the CES with different brands integrating it with their smart home appliances.
