Few weeks earlier, The Meizu m3 was spotted in a leaked document along with multiple other Meizu’s upcoming smartphones. The document outlined the specifications and prices of the Meizu 2016 lineup. Today the same smartphone was listed on Chinese regulator TENAA’s website. Apparently the upcoming Meizu m3 will feature the same design as of its predecessor, however the hardware has seen some considerable improvements.
TENAA claims that the upcoming handset will sport a 5 inch 720p LCD screen. Although the chipset is still a mystery, m3 will be powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. Other features include 16 GB ROM which can be expanded upto 128 GB with a microSD card, a 13 megapixel rear camera along with the 5 megapixel front facing shooter. Last but not the least, the smartphone will allegedly host a 2,800 mAh battery under the hood. Note that among the specifications mentioned above, only the processor and the battery have been upgraded as compared the the predecessor, Meizu m2.
TENNA also claims that the upcoming Meizu m3 will be running YunOS 3.1.6. For those who haven’t heard of it yet, the YunOS is based on the Android Open Source Project and it is still unclear whether a proper version would be made available with Google Play Services or not.
Lets have a look at the contents of the aforementioned document. At the very bottom, the document details the Meizu M3. The listing claims a 5 inch 720p LCD display. The chipset wasn’t revealed by that leak too, however the 2,800 mAh battery was confirmed. In addition to that, the 16GB Meizu M3 was price-tagged at CNY 599 ($92) while the 32GB variant will cost you CNY 799.
