Google launched Android Wear 2.0 today along side two smartwatches by LG, LG Watch Style and LG Watch Sport. These are the first smartwatches to have the Android Wear 2.0 on board. The upgraded OS offers many new and nifty features which were required to develop a smartwatches functionality beyond a smart time piece.
Android Wear 2.0 offers Google Assistant and Android Pay, which will allow users to make payments through their watches if they are NFC enabled. User will now be able to download apps directly on their watch from the Play Store. In addition, the redesigned user interface is stunning. Google will be rolling out the update to other smartwatches in the coming days. These are the smartwatches that will get the Android Wear 2.0 update:
- Asus Zen Watch 2 & Watch 3
- Casio Smart Outdoor Watch
- Fossil Q Founder, Q Marshal & Q Wander
- Huawei Watch
- LG Watch R, LG Watch Urbane & LG Urbane 2nd Ed LTE
- Michael Kors Access
- Moto 360, Moto 360 Spot & Moto 360 for Women
- New Balance RunIQ
- Nixon Mission
- Polar M600
- TAG Heuer Connected Watch
Almost all of the smartwatches will be getting the Android Wear 2.0 update. If you have any of these watches you will be able to explore the new features that this OS offers in the next few weeks. We hope that Google continues on working on updating Android Wear to compete with the likes of Apple in this category.
