Since Google has unveiled the latest version of Android, smartphone manufacturers are in a competition to take lead with running the latest and greatest version of Android on maximum number of their devices. LG, Samsung, Sony, HTC and other manufacturers updated their flagship devices to Android 4.4 KitKat, but the updates remained for their recent flagship devices only and Google took lead by updating the former flagship and some of its other devices to Android 4.4 KitKat. Being the top smartphone manufacturer, Samsung was expected to roll out Android KitKat updates for a number of its devices, the users were pretty much disappointed as Samsung took quite a long time to even bring its present flagship devices e.g Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 to Android KitKat, but sufficient information wasn’t available for the devices which may or may not get Android KitKat and when the updates will roll out.
Recently, after being disappointed for a long time, Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users cheered up when they started receiving the KitKat update for their device, that shown the interest of Samsung in the old devices. Folks over Sammobile have got their hands on some more prominent info about the devices that Samsung will be updating to Android KitKat soon, this may reduce the distress of the Galaxy device owners.
The updates are expected start in sometime around June, 2014. The chart of the devices shows that Galaxy S3’s international variant GT-I9300 won’t be getting Android 4.4 KitKat for now, and there isn’t any info available whether the device will even get the update or not. It is being said that Galaxy S3’s international variant is having some problems with Android 4.4 KitKat and the update won’t be available as long as the problems remain unresolved.
Sammobile’s tipster has also specified that Samsung might be soon rolling out Android 4.4.3 for the latest flagship, Galaxy S5. This may also leave an impact on other devices and chances are, Samsung might push Android 4.4.3 for the devices enlisted here, but this will may result in delaying the update.
