LG set to update many of it’s devices to Android 4.4 KitKat, skipping Android 4.3

Since the day Google has pulled the curtains off from it’s latest Android 4.4 KitKat, a new competition has started among the smartphone manufacturers and all are trying to update their devices to the latest and greatest version of Android to take a lead over others. Motorola has already updated it’s Moto G to Android 4.4 KitKat, while Samsung pushed KitKat in Galaxy Note 3 and LG, HTC and Sony are set to roll out the updates.

Earlier it was expected that LG will update it’s new high end devices to Android 4.4 KitKat.  According the information that surfaced over the web today through PhoneArena’s tipster, the Korean giant is set to update many of it’s devices to Android 4.4 KitKat, that means LG G2 will not be the only LG device to taste the KitKat, it’s siblings will be joining it too. These devices include LG Optimus F3, Optimus F6, Optimus F7, Optimus L9 II, Optimus Vu II, Optimus Vu III, LG G Pad 8.3 (+ verizon model), G Pro Lite, Rumored  LG LS740 and the unannounced LG D315.

If the rumors are meant to believe in, LG will surely take lead upon taking a number of it’s devices to Android 4.4 KitKat. What adds more to it is, LG will be skipping Android 4.2.2 and 4.3 updates for many of these devices and updating directly to 4.4 KitKat. It was earlier speculated that LG G2 will be getting Android 4.4 KitKat update this month, but later on the speculations turned down and the update has been delayed for now.

What you should keep in mind while reading this is, everything is just a rumor until LG announces it officially or hints at something. So, make sure that you take a pinch of salt after you’re done reading.

For those who don’t know, Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat a few months back on it’s birthday. The first device to have Android 4.4 KitKat was the Google Nexus 5, that Google made in collaboration with LG. Also, Google updated Nexus 4 and few other devices to Android 4.4 KitKat first of all. The new version of Android is much faster, secure and reliable. It replaces Dalvik with ART that enhances the performance of the device running Android 4.4 KitKat.
