LG G6 will not make use of Snapdragon 835 chipset

LG is doing its best to trump Samsung this year with their upcoming flagship LG G6. The rumors about the device claimed that it will make use of Qualacomm’s latest processor, Snapdragon 835. Now the latest news by Forbes that this is not the case, as Samsung got hold of the initial supply of this particular chipset for Galaxy S8.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Samsung helped produce these chips making use of the 10nm process. This makes the chip 20% faster and more energy efficient. Samsung Exynos 8895 chipset is also made through the 10nm process and both the Exynos and Snapdragon 835 will be used in Galaxy S8 production. Strategically Samsung would have gotten hold of the initial supply so that its competitors would not get hold of it and it would be exclusive to their device till it comes out.

This means that LG G6 and other flagships that are coming in the first half of the year will end up using Snapdragon 821. Forbes report further stated this ‘The Snapdragon 835 won’t be available in large quantities until after the Galaxy S8 launches’. As Samsung Galaxy S8 will be lunching in mid April, it will push back the schedule of the companies planning to make use of this chipset.

LG this around is working strategically to increase their market shares with an earlier release of LG G6. Not getting their hands on Snapdragon 835 will not be an issue for them as they are working on other aspects to sell their device. They are promoting it regularly so that it creates hype among users and along with that the design changes will definitely tip the scales in their favor.
