You might have heard the news we posted regarding an expected ‘LG G5 SE‘ variant. Reportedly LG had trademarked a smartphone with the aforementioned title in South Korea which led to speculations that the company might be planning to introduce a smaller handset to compete with the Apple iPhone SE resealed last month.
However, a recent development proves that even thought the LG G5 SE is real, it wont be smaller than the standard G5. In fact, it’ll have precisely similar dimensions as of the G5 revealed on MWC. The development we are talking about is a leaked official LG-made Quick Cover case for the G5. This Quick Cover case is apparently compatible with both, The LG G5 and LG G5 SE, thus ruling out the possibility that the ‘SE’ variant is a smaller sized smartphone.

The above picture proves the existence of LG G5 SE while also confirming the fact that it’ll come with similar dimensions as of the standard LG G5 so that it may fit inside the Quick Cover case. Well, if the size is similar, what is the difference between both handsets? Our bet will be either on build material or specifications. The SE variant might be unveiled with a plastic made body instead of the metal based body featured in LG G5. Alternatively the upcoming handset might host under-powered hardware inside the hood.
We are expecting to see the unveiling of SE variant in the near future. So stay tuned for the latest news.
