LG confirms its ‘Always On Display’ for G5

Official confirmations and leaks are pouring in as the MWC 2016 is getting closer. Now we already know that major flagship models of different companies are going to be introduced on February 21, among which is the all new LG G5.

According to a recent post made by LG on their official Facebook page, LG G5 will also feature an Always on Display which will allow its users to check the current date/time and various notifications like unread messages, missed calls and unread emails without actually unlocking the phone first.

‘Always On Display’ is the feature which has already been introduced by Motorola (with the name Active display), but now other major tech giants have been working to bring the same feature to their smartphones. Google went ahead and introduced Ambient Display on their latest Nexus smartphone while, as we mentioned yesterday, Samsung also filed an application to trade mark the name ‘Always On Display’.

Apart from this announcement, rumors regarding G5 are also in the air. A fingerprint scanner along with dual rear camera carved in metal body is being expected. If these rumors prove to be true, the new model will be a big improvement to its predecessors.
