We already that know that LG is set to release its new flagship smartphone, LG G5, on the upcoming MWC event. Apparently, in addition to the G5, LG will be unveiling further two smartphones one day after the release of G5. The sole purpose of these devices, as claimed by LG, is that to provide its customers with smartphones which won’t have the unnecessary features. This decision might be a treat for the customers who want a mid-range smartphone which only caters to their specific and limited needs efficiently. These speculations are based on the official announcement made by LG’s president and CEO, Juno Cho:
“Everyone has a favorite smartphone feature. At LG, we think there’s room for devices that do one thing very well and that customers shouldn’t have to pay for features that they don’t want. At the end of the day, we’re committed to offering consumers more choices.”
These phones will be called LG X Cam and LG X Screen. Both phones will be officially be introduced on February 22nd, the day after the LG G5 event, and will launch the next month in Asia, Europe and Latin America. As you can see in the picture on the right, the smartphone in silver color is the LG X Cam while the one in black is the LG X Screen.
As far as the specifications and features of the smartphones are concerned, LG X Screen will feature a 4.93″ In-cell main screen with eye-catching HD resolution, i.e 720 x 128. Apart form the main screen, LG X screen will come with a 1.76″ secondary screen on the top left corner of the device. This additional screen will feature and Always on Display which will allow its customers to view notifications, time, weather and battery status without actually unlocking the device. Furthermore, LG X Screen will be packed with a quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU along will 2GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage. A 2300mAh battery will be used to power the device while, needless to say, Android Marshmallow will come pre-installed with the smartphone. Last but not the least, three color variants of the device will be made available, namely black, white and pink gold.
The other smartphone will feature a larger 5.2″ screen packed with even better 1080 x 1920 HD resolution. LG X Cam will be run by an octa-core 1.14 GHz CPU along with 2GB of RAM. Although both devices feature the same 16 GB internal storage, LG X Cam will include three cameras in total. 13MP and 5MP cameras placed at the back while the an 8MP camera is dedicated for selfies and video chats. Even though this device will be run by a 2520mAh battery, it weighs amazingly low, i.e 118 grams. LG X Cam will be offered to its customers in white, titan silver, gold and pink gold.
