Earlier this year, a reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo announced that the upcoming Apple iPhone 7 Plus will be offered in different variants. There will be a special edition of the 7 Plus (which might be called iPhone 7 Pro) that will, allegedly, feature a dual camera system on its back. These lens are to be manufactured by Sony and are expected to be of 12 megapixels each. One of the lens will host a larger aperture than the other and will be accompanied by OIS. The other lens will be equipped by 2-3x optical zoom.

Almost a year ago, Apple was given a patent for the exact photographic setup mentioned above. Today an image surface out of Taiwan which claims to be of the dual camera system manufactured for the upcoming iPhone 7. This image all but confirms the previous speculations made by Mr Kuo. It can be clearly observed in the image that the lens on the left is slightly larger than the other.
There is no solid proof to indicate that the component seen in the image above is actually intended for a special version of the iPhone 7 Plus. But that doesn’t rules out the possibility of a dual camera system featured in the upcoming smartphone once it is unveiled this coming September.
Lets have a look at some features we are expecting the new smartphone to host. Although no solid leaks or rumors have surfaced regarding the internal components of the smartphone, we expect Apple to introduce the next-generation A10 processor (manufactured by TSMC) for its upcoming flagships. Needless to say, Apple will be releasing two variants of the iPhone 7 – 4.7″ iPhone 7 and 5.5″ iPhone 7 Plus.

One major rumor is ‘ no headphone jack ‘, Apple is expected to remove the 3.5mm standard headphone jack from its upcoming smartphone to achieve the amazing thickness of 6.1mm (similar to the iPod touch). Of course the company will come up with another alternative to the 3.5mm jack, hopefully the wired headphones will connect to the iPhone 7 using its Lightning port and Bluetooth headphones will connect wirelessly. Apple is rumored to be working on Lightning-equipped EarPods too while a second stereo speaker could be introduced instead of the headphone jack.
We are expecting both variants to host some major differences as compared to each other. The iPhone 7 might feature 2GB of RAM while its larger brother could be unveiled with a larger, 3GB of Ram. As mentioned above, a different camera system is being rumored. iPhone 7 Plus could be launched with further two variants, one with a single lens like the iPhone 7 and a second with a dual-lens camera system that offers DSLR-like image quality with 2-3x optical zoom and improved performance in low light conditions. Have a look at the slideshow below to see some other images of the alleged camera system which are roaming around the internet.
That is all for now, stay tuned for further updates.
