I have addressed this Issue before regarding other iPhone variants, but now that iPhone 8 and iPhone X have made their way to market. I have got many emails about the same issue iPhone Won’t Turn Off, so I thought why not make a new post and add more explications for this error.
This time I have included iPhone X and 8 in this Tutorial, so you can apply these steps to your brand-new Apple devices too. Let’s start the process to fix iPhone 8 or iPhone X Won’t Turn Off.
Fix iPhone 8 or iPhone X Won’t Turn Off:
If your iPhone 7, iPhone 8 or iPhone X is frozen and won’t turn off then follow the steps below. You can apply these same steps to the lower-end devices of Apple.
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button, Wait for 10 seconds.
- When the red Slider appears to slide it to turn it off.
- You can also force quit the offending app that was causing such issue. Press home button for 1-2 seconds, it will shut off all the apps.
If the above method is not working for you then try the following one in order to fix iPhone won’t turn off.
- Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously for about 10 seconds. This will reboot your device by force.
Another option is that leave your device as it and let the battery drain out completely and once your battery is completely empty your device will be turned off.
