Some of the tested prototypes have an LCD display and some have an AMOLED display. Even though Apple reportedly will be making use of an aluminium glass chassis, the company is testing glass, aluminium and ceramic chassis. Along with that the company is also looking at which components can be mass produced, some elements may work out well, but their production time may put iPhone 8 off schedule.

iPhone 8 or iPhone Edition will have no home button and the flexible OLED display will be curved on all four sides giving the device a true edge-to-edge display. As there will no home button, the company will either be introducing am embedded fingerprint scanner or a facial recognition technology.
