LG K20 Plus was released back in December 2016. The device comes with a 5.3-inch 720 x 1280 pixels display. LG K20 Plus runs with Snapdragon 425 CPU accompanied by Adreno 308 GPU. The phone has a RAM of 2 GB and its internal storage options are 16 and 32 GB. LG K20 Plus was released running on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. This mid-range device has a battery juice of 2700 mAh. It has a 13 MP camera at its back and a 5 MP on the front.

LG K20 Plus was recently favored with a TWRP recovery. TWRP allowed LG K20 Plus owners to flash SuperSU and root their smartphone. Apart from rooting the phone, TWRP also opened the gateway towards a whole new world of customizations on this phone. You can now easily flash custom ROMs and MODs on the phone. It’s easier to make Nandroid backup and backups of other partitions of the phone. You can also wipe Dalvik cache easily now.

Although it’s not officially recommended to install a custom recovery on an Android phone, if you’re an Android enthusiast, you can flash it to unleash the true potential of your smartphone. With the root access, you can install new features on your phone. It’s possible to enhance the battery life and performance of your phone with the applications that work with the help of root access.

Assuming that you have an understanding of a custom recovery and root access, we will now proceed with the method. Let’s have a look at the steps to install TWRP recovery and root LG K20 Plus.

  6. After flashing SuperSU, reboot your phone. You are all done.
  7. Your device will boot up now. Find SuperSu in app drawer. Install Root Checker app to verify root access.
