Step#1: Download and install Alcatel USB drivers.

Step#2: Download the following zip file and extract to a folder on your computer’s desktop.

Step#3: Enable USB debugging mode on your Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 and connect it with your PC.

Step#4: Allow your PC when it prompts for permission on your phone.

Step#5: Now go to the folder where you extracted the contents of downloaded zip file.

Step#6: Hold Shift key and Right click on empty area within that folder. Now click on “Open Command Prompt/Window Here”.

Step#7: Now in the command prompt, enter these commands

Step#8: adb reboot-bootlaoder

This command will reboot your device in bootloader mode.

Step#9: fastboot -i 0x1bbb devices

This command will verify your device’s connection in fastboot mode.

Step#10: fastboot -i 0x1bbb  oem device-info

This command will provide you your device’s bootloader info.

Step#11: fastboot -i 0x1bbb oem unlock

This command will unlock the bootloader of your device.

Step#12: fastboot -i 0x1bbb reboot

This command will reboot your device.

That’s all. You’ve unlocked the bootloader of your Alcatel One Touch Idol 3.

Installing TWRP recovery and rooting Alcatel One Touch Idol 3

Step#1: Download the TWRP recovery.img file and copy it to the folder where you extracted the contents of zip file you downloaded above.

Step#2: Download SuperSu.zip file and copy it to your phone’s internal storage.

Step#3: Enable USB debugging mode on your Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 and connect it to your PC. Allow your PC if it prompts on the phone.

Step#4: Now go to the folder where you extracted the contents of downloaded zip file and also copied the TWRP recovery.img file.

Step#5: Hold Shift key and Right click on empty area within that folder. Now click on “Open Command Prompt/Window Here”.

Step#6: Now in the command prompt, enter these commands

Step#7: adb reboot-bootloader

This will reboot your device in bootloader mode.

Step#8: fastboot -i 0x1bbb  flash recovery recovery.img

This will flash TWRP recovery on your Alcatel One Touch Idol 3.

Step#9: Reboot your device and you’re all done with flashing TWRP recovery. It’s time to root it now.

Step#10: Disconnect your device from your PC now.

Step#11: Now reboot your Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 in the newly installed TWRP recovery. To do so, turn off your device completely. Now turn it on by pressing either Volume Up + Power Key or Volume Up + Down + Power Key. One of these combinations will open TWRP recovery on your phone.

Step#12: Once you’re in TWRP recovery, tap “Install” and then locate the copied SuperSu.zip file. Select the file and swipe finger to flash it.

Step#13: As soon as TWRP is done flashing the file, reboot your phone and find SuperSu in app drawer. You can verify root access using Root Checker application.

 

Root Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 Without Install Custom Recovery

  1. Download this zip file and extract its content on some familiar location in your PC.
  2. Connect your Alcatel One Touch Idol 3 to your PC. Pull down notification bar on your phone and select “MTP” mode.
  3. Run Root.bat file from the extracted folder now.
  4. The device will reboot twice while rooting your phone. Just sit back and wait for it to root. Once done, checkout SuperSu in app drawer.
  5. That’s all.
