Samsung just updated both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge to Android 7.0 Nougat. The phones have a new life now. Android 7.0 Nougat brings tons of new features to both these smartphones. If you happen to be an Android enthusiasts who loves to keep his phone rooted, it may be a bad news for you that updating to official stock Android 7.0 Nougat firmware will unroot your phone. You will have to root your phone from scratch in that case. While trying to root your Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge on Android Nougat, you may find out that things are not as easy as before. It has been made very difficult to root phones on Nougat.

Google has siginificantly improved the Android device security over the course of last few years. Android’s new security features make it more than hard for developers and hackers to find a loophole and root the phone. It takes quite a time for developers and tweakers to come up with a working method now a days. Until now, rooting the S6 and S6 Edge using TWRP recovery and SuperSU wasn’t easy. Thanks to our friend Dr.Ketan, who just tweaked a version of SuperSU and made it compatible with the S6 and S6 Edge.

You can now easily flash the latest TWRP 3.1 custom recovery on your phone. Once you have the TWRP recovery installed, you are all free to flash a SuperSU file and get it rooted without any hiccups. Before jumping on to the installation process, carefully go through the preparations. Read up everything and then follow the steps to install TWRP recovery and root Galaxy S6/Galaxy S6 Edge running Android 7.0 Nougat firmware.
