53

LTE Galaxy Note 2 N7105 owners have been missing the Ditto Note series ROMs for their device for quite a long time and finally the great Electron Team has come up with the latest iteration of their custom operating system for our beloved LTE variant of the Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7105. The operating system is the V2 of the Ditto Note 4 ROM, as the ROM suggests, this ROM has got all what you will find in the Galaxy Note 4. The ROM is worth having on your device as it will intelligently turn your Galaxy Note 2 into a Galaxy Note 4 by adding some cool features borrowed from the device. The features atop of the list include Note 4 Air Command, Note 4 Image Clip, Note 4 S Finder and others. The base of the operating system is the Android 4.4.4 KitKat ported from the Korean version of the Galaxy S3. The firmware, over-all is a great choice to go with if you want to change the life of your Galaxy Note 2.

Although the Galaxy Note 2 will be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop officially and the device currently runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but some Android power users may want to try out something completely different right now. The next update may carry some features from the Note 4, but it’s going to take quite a while for Samsung to cook up Android 5.0 Lollipop for a device like Galaxy Note 2 and we’ve already seen that Samsung isn’t doing really good with its updates. For the users looking out there for a way to install the Ditto Note 4 ROM on their Galaxy Note 2, we’ve prepared this guide. As you scroll down, you will find a completely and comprehensive method to install Ditto Note 4 V2 on your Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7105. All you need to do is, you need to make sure that you follow this guide carefully and follow each and every single step accordingly. Early Preparations
1. This is only for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7105 [LTE]

This custom ROM is only for the device mentioned above. Make sure that your model number matches the one listed above. To do so, go to Settings > About Device on your device and see your model number. Flashing this ROM on any other device will result in bricking it so make sure that you meet this requirement first of all.

2. Battery should be charged at least over 60%

Make sure that your battery is charged enough to complete the flashing process. In case your battery is low and your device goes dead during the flashing process, you may end up soft bricking your device as it won’t complete the flashing process.

3. Flash a Custom Recovery

A custom recovery is required for flashing this ROM. You may flash TWRP recovery using this guide.

4. Backup everything!

Just to be on the safe side, you may consider backing up each and everything from your Android device. This is highly recommended so that in case anything goes wrong, you still have the access to all of your data and you can restore it immediately. You may backup everything as listed below.

5. Disclaimer

The methods involved in flashing custom recoveries, ROMs and rooting your phone are highly custom and may result in bricking your device, and has nothing to do with Google or the device manufacturer that is SAMSUNG in our case. Also rooting your device will void its warranty and you will be no longer eligible for any kind of free device services by the manufacturers/warranty providers. In case of any mishap we may not be held responsible. If your device has the Knox counter on the bootloader, it will be tripped and you won’t be able to reset it ever. Follow these instructions to the letter to avoid any mishap or bricking. Make sure that whatever you do, you are doing it at your own responsibility.

How to install Ditto Note 4 ROM on Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7105 now

  1. Before you flash this ROM, you need to make sure that you’ve read and applied all the guidelines explained above.
  2. Also, make sure that you’re currently running on latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
  3. Now boot into TWRP recovery, to  do so, turn off your device and then turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Up+ Home Button + Power Key. Select Wipe >Advanced Wipe > Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
  4. Download the Ditto Note 4 ROM [DN4 V2 For LTE Devices.zip] and place it on your phone’s sd card.
  5. Download the LTE ADDON DN4 v2 for N7105 LTE v1.1 and copy it to your phone’s SD card as well.
  6. Boot into TWRP Recovery again, select install > DN4 V2 For LTE Devices.zip file and flash it.
  7. The ROM will take a while to get flashed. Do not reboot your device once the installation is done.
  8. As soon as the ROM is flashed, go back to the main menu in TWRP recovery and select install once again. This time flash the file “LTE ADDON DN4 v2 for N7105 LTE v1.1“, once done, wipe cache and dalvik cache in TWRP recovery.
  9. Reboot now and setup your new ROM in order to enjoy the features of Galaxy Note 4 on your LTE Galaxy Note

If the ROM isn’t good enough to fulfill your needs or if something went wrong with the installation, you may flash stock firmware using this guide.

That’s all. If you’re facing any issues after installing this ROM, make sure that you reach us by using the comment box below. We will respond you immediately in order to help you out. Thank you all.

  1. Hi,
Will this ROM work on GT-N7105T, it is an Australian version of the note 2??
if not can you recommend any ROM’s that will work on my GTN7105T?
    thank you

      • As I said in another post I just installed it on my N7105T. It does work. You just need to flash N7105 stock firmware to turn it into an N7105 first.

    • @disqus_H7bD5peQzJ:disqus This does work for the GT-N7105T if you flash stock GT-N7105 firmware first.

  2. same with me here,im stuck at samsung logo, wipe cache/dalvik cache before reboot but nothing happens, when i hit reboot it stuck at samsung logo…do i have to take out the battery and switch on…pls help…thanks…

  3. im using twrp to flash the rom, wipe cache/dalvik cache…some says should use cwm recovery…which is which…?

  4. hi Usama,

I did exactly as instructed, but im stuck at the samsung logo. it appeared to be the new samsung start up screen, but it just stays there. anything I missed? and its my fault to push factory reset button, so other recovery file is wiped. what should I do now? my phone is damage???

    • @cutputriayasofia:disqus flash latest stock fimrware on your device and then try flashing this ROM from scratch again. Your phone is safe and sound, nothing to worry about. Just follow this guide carefully.

  5. is this will work?
so before flashing dn4 we should back to original firmware and do not root this phone?

    • If you are asking about the N7105T then don’t flash original N7105T firmware. Flash stock N7105 firmware from Sammobile. It will work fine on the N7105T. Then check if the phone says N7105 and not N7105T at the start screen and in the about device section. If it does flashing dn4 should work fine.

      • Thanks for the reply (I double posted above as I was unaware of the approval process for my reply – I thought I never submitted my first post)! Anyway, finally sorted this out. After flashing and re-flashing many times, I finally consulted with the ditto note XDA forum thread, and downloaded the single file encompassing the LTE modification from the electron team website. This has worked perfectly, and I’m now finally a ditto note user. I’m certainly impressed with the ROM, and its breathed new life into my aging Note II. The Agni kernel is a nice touch too! I now have the knowledge, skill and confidence to flash my wife’s Note II as well with the ditto note ROM.

Thanks for the reply and the thread. At the very least it was a good reference and eventually steered me on the right direction.

  6. @goldiep:disqus i am not sure about the N7105T variant, but as alex’s last line says, you need to flash stock firmware of N7105 prior to flashing this firmware on your device. I highly recommend that create an EFS backup and Nandroid backup before you do this.

  7. I am yet to try this. I have gt n7105t device. Can I install 4.4.2 stock firmware for australia optus and then try flashing this rom? .

  8. This rom turned to be a piece of nonsense wasting my one full day. no problems faced in flashing and Booting. But device gets stuck occassionally and wifi was not catching. Tried flashing dr ketans patch but it failed. Didnt seem worth the effort

  9. I had wifi and stabiluty issues aftwr flashing. Reverted to stock rom. Wifi was not turning on and the device hung regularly.

  10. i have samsung note 2 n7105 updated to android 5.1.1 lollipop via cm-12 …..
will this will work in it i mean android 5.1.1 conversion to 4.4.???????

  11. Hi there, I’ve tried to flash the ROM, too and guess?
Stuck on Samsung Boot Logo… My Model is a real GT-N7105 (t0lte)..
I figured out, that the ROM is fine and smooth if you flash it without the LTE-File…
But if I apply the LTE-patch, phone sucks at the Samsung Boot Logo…
Without the LTE-patch SIM will not recognized…

Would be nice, to get a helping hand for those problem…

    • Back to stock isn’t a nice answer.
I’ve flashed the original DN4 v2.2 from electron team’s hp. Works perfectly on my t0lte.
Only proxymity sensor has a bug. Does not response @ phone mode…
      Thank you anyway

      • @djfunnybone:disqus At the time of writing the post, the initial version did not carry this fix. However I’ll check the official link and update the post with the latest version of this ROM. Thank you for letting us know.

        • @”Usama” latest Version is DN4_2.2.6-LTE but from 2.2 to 2.2.6 it’s only available via OTA afaik. Further I’ve used agni 4.4.5 Kernel and the sensorfix, because there was issues with my proximity sensor. Everything’s working like Stock ROM now. 😉

  12. I installed DN4 v2.2 LTE on my Note 2 GT-N7105 using TWRP touch …
Problem is After Clean Installtion the boot animation is not of Samsung its like a big Grey Ball rotating.

and then I got the biggest problem is I can’t turn on my Wifi
How to solve this WIFI problem?
    Please Help!!

  13. Hi!
    I
installed the last available ROM in website: DN4_v2 for lte(2).zip and

ROM which I tried ever in my phone (N7105)
    But
there is an issue: VPN connect to cysco VPN (IPSec Xauth PSK) is not
works with this rom. Because this is all-important for me, I cannot use
this great ROM. Is there anybody who can help me to solve this problem?

  14. Hello gud day. The prospect of having this ROM is really high and I am so dying to get it but I have already have installed a cyanogenmod custom ROM running on lollipop. Question: how can I install this on a lollipop running android ver or do I have to downgrade back to the kitkat to do this and if yes then how do I do that because it was my cousin who upgraded my phone and he only taught me how he did it in the most simple way. Need your help and really appreciate it.

Sorry for getting back to you late. Since i’m busy with my final exams, I merely get time to come up here and have a look at the queries.

Since you’re running on CyanogenMod custom ROM, you only need to flash the latest available KitKat ROM to first restore your phone to stock. After that you’re good to go with it and flash this ROM on your phone.

      • I really didnt realize that u were still in college like me. I’m really sorry to have pressured you to reply hastily but either ways I really appreciate it. I will try to flash it back to stock and try the tutorials again. Thanks again for replying.

  16. it is sad that i went over all the instructions and followed it religiously and ended up on the download link for the [DN4 V2 For LTE Devices.zip] just to find that the file doesn’t exist anymore. 🙁 went to the other sites that gives instructions on how to flash the DN4 ROM but ended up with anemia after nose bleeding with all the tech jargon they used and back here to rank and beg for someone to even notice my post and hopefully help me on this problem. already posted a different issue before with my custom rom being cyanogen 12 and running on android lollipop but no luck on the respond. either techbeast haven’t read me post or is just not interested in helping a newbie. well, here’s hoping.

    • @curiouskidinside:disqus the link has been updated. I apologize once again for the delayed response. Let me know if you need any further help. Best of luck 🙂

  17. Hi there! I’m really sorry to be bothering you so much. It’s me Curious Kid Inside from Disqus. I went to download the stock firmware for my phone model on the Samsung Updates website but unfortunately bother the link don’t have the file anymore. Went over the internet finding the stock firmware but just couldn’t find any. You don’t happen to have one laying around your cloud or something? Would be a great help. You’ve been really helpful and I can’t express how much I appreciate it but let me take advantage of the moment. I have a Samsung Note 2 GT-N7105 t0lte N7105XXUFND3

The one on the bottom of the list (on the picture attached) is mine but is it possible to use any of those others above as long as I have the same model number?
