Preparations needed to install Ditto Note 3 ROM

Let’s head towards the ROM flashing guide.. Before we do so, here are some pre-requisites you must have:

      • Your Galaxy Note 2 must be rooted and have a custom recovery installed. Follow this guide to root and install a custom Recovery.(Although the title specifies that the guide is for Galaxy Note 2 running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but it will also work fine if you are running a lower version of Android or any other custom ROM).
      • Make sure that your device is Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – GT N7100. Do not try this on any other device. Check your device’s mode in Settings > About Device > Model.
      • Make sure that you’ve battery charged over at least 60%. It is highly recommended in order to prevent any mishap while flashing.
      • Make sure that you backup all your important media content,  ContactsCall Logs & Messages.
      • Boot in to TWRP Recovery (Volume Up + Home Button + Power Key) and backup your current ROM, take EFS backup, also backup the Modem..
      • All set? Follow the guidelines below carefully to the letter now..

How to Install DN3 V3 ROM:

      • Boot into TWRP recovery, to  do so, turn off your device and then turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Up+ Home Button + Power Key. Select Wipe >Advanced Wipe > Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
      • Download the Ditto Note 3 V3 ROM and place it on your phone’s sd card.
      • Boot into TWRP Recovery again, select install > ditto note 3.zip file and flash it.
      • The ROM will take a while to get flashed. As soon as the installation is done, factory reset the phone using the wipe option in TWRP recovery.
      • Reboot now and setup your new ROM in order to enjoy the features of Galaxy Note 3.

Troubleshooting:

In case you are facing wifi issues after flashing this ROM, that is due to the old bootloader. You need to flash new bootloader on new ROM. Here is how you can get the new bootloader.

Here’s how you can flash Dr. Ketan’s Wifi Fix Patch:

      • Download and extract Dr Ketan’s Wifi Patch from HERE.
      • Open Odin.
      • Put your phone in download mode. To do so ,turn it off and then turn it on by pressing and holding Volume Down + Home Button + Power Key, then press volume up to continue.
      • Connect it to your PC. the ID:COM box should turn blue in Odin now.
      • Select PDA tab, and select the downloaded Dr Ketan’s Wifi Patch file.
      • Hit start. It should flash the wifi patch quickly. As soon as your device reboots, try turning on wifi and it should be working.
      • In case you are currently on an older bootloader, then download and extract this BL_MJ5_DN3 bootloader  and flash it using Odin and skip Dr Ketan’s Wifi Fix.

  2. Hello Sir! Thanks for all the replies , one another question I want to askyou and that is , Is there any method to add IR Blaster in Note II, if it’s possible then plz tell me the whole procedure for doing so

    • @mustafabohra:disqus It is not possible as Note 2 doesn’t have infrared. You can install the app ”Root App Uninstall” from the play store and uninstall system apps.

  3. Also I want to know that how can I uninstall System apps from my Note II. I have installed S Translator in my rooted Note II and since the my Samsung account has stopped working, my phone crashes everytime. Please tell me how to remove it, I shall be highly grateful to you if you tell me and thanks in advance

  4. Thanks Sir! Just one more thing and that is , Please check if the link for ditto Note 3 is broken or what because i am not able to download it and I am getting speed of 6 kBps only and after downloading 200 – 230 MB my download automatically gets cancelled. Please check it and update the link if it is broken or it will be best if you please upload a torrent file for it, Please Sir i need it desperately , please provide the way as soon as possible

  5. I installed that app and removed S Translator and after rebooting also it says Samsung Account session expired and when I try to sign it then again and agian it says that Samsng Account has stopped working. Please tell me what to do?

    • Perform a data wipe through recovery and things should be fine for you, if issue still persists then flash a stock firmware on your device, find the tutorial on our site, after you flash stock firmware, boot into recovery mode wipe data / cache.

      • Ok thanks for the reply but please check the ditto note 3 link . I request you to please provide a toorent file for the same please sir i want it desperately.

        • @mustafabohra:disqus the developer does not allow to mirror his rom, otherwise i can upload this rom and provide the link here, the download is pretty slow, i know that but you’ll have to wait for it to complete.

          • hi @mustafabohra:disqus/@usamamujtaba:disqus /@denilchitrakar:disqus ,Even I am not able to download as it stops after downloading~220MB..Any other place where we can get the zip file?

          • @disqus_juCsusCEME:disqus sorry, but this is uploaded by the developer and he does not allow the mirrors.. you’ll have to download it using this link only, try some other internet connection.

          • @disqus_juCsusCEME:disqus , You can go to original developer page , click on downloads tab there and download the torrent file which is for DN3 v2, the after flashing it download OTA Updater zip file , which is available in original page only for v3.1.1 and the flash that file also after flashing v2 and be careful to flash OTA updater file only after first boot . after rebooting go to OTA updater and then download DN3 v3.1.1 and flash it

          • Thanks..I was able to download by switching to wired connection instead over wifi and it did the trick..Thanks again, really appreciate your help!

  6. Followed above instructions A to Z. Thats it. Now I have DN3 V3 installed in my note 2 gtn7100. Working perfectly. Thanks a lot.

  7. Please clear one more doubt of mine . Is smart pause only for Samsung Stock videos or all videos and how to flas v3.1 after I have installed v2

    • @mustafabohra:disqus Smart pause works on stock video player, so what ever video you play in stock video player you will be able to use smart pause.
You flash the V3 simply by following the method explained above.

      • No not there. Actually what is happening is when I type daydream in search bar there comes a option of daydream but when I click on it More display options tab gets opened and there also I am not able to see daydream . Please help me out

    please guide

    • @saudafridi:disqus it would be wiser if you use the original cable only, perhaps the LG cable should not give you issue as well.
You are on older bootloader, simply follow the instructions above, if you face no service or wifi issue, simply flash dr. ketan’s wifi patch that is linked at the last part of the post..

  11. Dear all i have been using my wifi in home and lately i have observerd sometimes the note 3 n9005 model is getting good speeed and good latency when .But again wifi is not good on my phone. I have tried all the way checking for a solution but it seems like a problem of latest android 4.3 .Seems like samsung need to release a an update to fix wifi problem

am on android 4.3 with no root can somebody help me ?

  12. Help please I tried to Patch Dr Ketan’s Wifi Patch to get the wifi to work but when I downloaded the file “wifi_fix_for_MJ2.rar” and tried to Flash it using Odin. After hitting PDA it won’t let me locate the file because its on .rar it won’t accept that option. It only opens files such as MD5, tar, smd. It won’t show the .rar file which is the Ketan’s wifi file. I’m I supposed to do something such as rename it differently if so how? Please help Thank you!@ahmedwaddey:disqus

    • @disqus_mVZHs9h3qo:disqus Follow the instructions carefully above. You need to download the .rar file linked above, and extract it, then select it using PDA.

  13. @usamamujtaba:disqus Please tell me that if i want to format my phone and install stock ROM using Odin then how do I do it?

  14. No wonder I was confused that Dr Ketan’s Wifi patch didn’t work for me. For those still struggling, make sure you download “Winrar” first before doing anything. Once you download winrar proceed with the steps provided above which is Download Dr Kenta wifi patch, and download ODIN . Then extract the Dr Ketan wifi file using the Winrar you downloaded ( Basically right click extract) then Open ODIN and hit PDA find the file you extracted from Dr Kenta Wifi patch should be patch.tar.md5 select it and press Start. Then DONE

  15. i am not able to connect to wifi at my university and office after installing custom rom ditto v3.1 on note 2. need help or fix for same. can you please post a advice. should i try bl_mj5 or ketans fix. please guide me its kind of urgent.

      • thanks wifi is working, my laptop is not recognizing my phone and air gesture and all other smart features not working.

        • @chaitanyakadam:disqus disable USB debugging mode if enabled. Also when connected phone, in the phone select USB Mass Storage mode. Make sure that you have installed the drivers for Samsung.

          • Hi Usama, I had installed the cygnogen rom on my phone didnt like it and then installed the ditto back. but after doing this my wifi at secure places is not working even after ketan wifi fix. please help me with ways to fix it. like any one time solution.

          • @chaitanyakadam:disqus the Wifi fix works fine, what you can do is, clear your phone’s cache and dalvik cache from the recovery and flash this ROM again, check if wifi works or not, after that try installing wifi patch. In short do the whole process once again as you have already downloaded the files.

  16. hey i downloaded the rom and noticed that my wifi was not working. i seen where it tells you how to fix the wifi problem and followed all the steps but when i try to use odin to flash the .md5 file it says failed?

  17. I had no issues installing the ROM, but the wifi fix is another story. I believe I have the old bootloader, but in download mode, after I hit start in ODIN, ODIN freezes…I waited, and waited and finally I had to pull the battery out. The second attempt comes up as failed. Any ideas?

  18. Okay the DN3 ROM is working more than fine, no crashes, but it has minor problems as the following:
    1. Samsung Keyboard missing option for changing the language by swiping the space bar! (incase that you have more than language pack installed)
    2. SPen gestures is totally missing, because Note3 can use the capacitive buttons with SPen, but on Note2 it is impossible! (official DEV page says the problem is still existing in the ROM)
    3. One handed operation “use for all screen” option: is not working at all. (even if you refreshed the option)

So, is there a tweak or an update that handles these problems?

  19. @chaitanyakadam:disqus if you are on V3, please check software updates in About Device, there is V3.1 update available now.

    • no weather widget…. no google+… and ram is almost full… and my ph is getting slower and slower… apps are taking time to open…. plz tell me how to fix it

      • @chaudhrynaeemkhalid:disqus we already said that do everything at your own risk. However if the ROM is giving you problems, you can go back to your stock firmware. Just flash the official ROM.

  20. in odin it stuck on nandwrite start and failed. pls help, i cant fix my wifi. i really like this rom. pls help pls 🙁

  21. @disqus_d4vYopb0X1:disqus you’re having connection problem. Try using any other USB port a different PC. It should resolve.

  22. Hi Usama, I tried to flash the BL_MJ5_DN3 bootloader. Odin shows a NAND write error and the phone doesn’t boot anymore. But I still can get in the download mode. What do you suggest to do?

    • @disqus_7gUWkvjePw:disqus boot into the custom recovery, wipe cache, data and dalvik cache and then reboot again. it should work fine.

  23. Firstly thank’s for xda and usama m
this custom rom works very well to me
,i don’t have any problem with wifi, this rom really smooth and more long battery life
but air gesture doesn’t work and take some more ram,and some widget like accuweather not installed in this rom.(sorry for my bad english peace)
there is any idea for this problem

    • @disqus_FBp79JuuM2:disqus I’ve already linked the bootloader above in the last part and it’s the same developer.
and we can’t guarantee proper working of any custom ROM, the functionality varies.

  24. air gesture dont work
    no weather widget
    more ram consumption
    battery drain more faster

but good that i manage to install widget from XDA and all are fine
    no need of wifi patch

    • @pranitkoli:disqus Can you tell me what problem is it exactly? You need to activate mobile data under networks in settings. Else try flashing Dr Ketan’s patch and check it.

    • @disqus_hA4qBOAgDI:disqus make sure that you didn’t downgrade your device. Also, make sure that you used a latest recovery and you flashed properly. If your device is stuck in bootloop, try clearing cache and dalvik cache if it still doesn’t help, you might have to flash stock firmware.

  25. Sir i download dn3 but when i wana flash it from twrp or cmw it show error on flashing. Its 1.9gb rom. Can i update dn3 bootloader for dn3 rom??? Zip file has no problem. Please tell me
