Install CM 11 M8 Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat On LG Nexus 5

The Loyalty has paid off once again as Nexus 5 is receiving the update of CM 11 M8 based on Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat, this custom ROM is now available for Nexus 5. Like any other CM version, this update doesn’t bring much changes but many of the improvements have been made in it to make it a better version, VPN Issues related to Android 4.4.3 have been fixed, the expended desktop has been moved to ‘Display’, Heads-up notifications can be enabled, interface is replaced with Status Bar, Notification Drawer and Gestures, Duplicates are removed from Security, Buttons are moved for Navigation bar and much more.

This is not an official release from LGE but a Custom ROM, you need to install a Custom Recovery on your device to install this and also your device must be rooted.

In this Article,  we will show you How To Install CM 11 M8 Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat On LG Nexus 5. But before we begin, make sure:

  1. That you have a Well Charged Battery, 60%-80% is better.
  2. Back-Up all your important ContactsCall Logs & Messages. It is highly recommended in case of any mishap or data loss to back up all your important data.
  3. Back-Up your Mobiles EFS Data.
  4. Check your device model, Go To Setting > About and Make sure that it is Nexus 5 (hammerhead).
  5. Do not try it on any other device.
  6. Enable USB Debugging Mode

How To Install It.

  • Connect your device with PC.
  • Copy and Paste the Above zip files to the root of your sdcard.
  • Disconnect the cable.
  • Turn Off your Device
  • Open Bootloader mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Down + Power buttons until you see some text on screen.
  • Highlight Recovery In Bootloader, and Press Power Button To Select it

CWM/PhilZ Touch Recovery Users.

  1. Back-up your ROM using the Recovery.
  2. To Perform a Back-up, Navigate to Back-up and Restore on Next screen, Choose Back-up again.
  3. Go back to Main Screen after the Back-up is complete.
  4. First Choose ‘Wipe Cache’.
  5. Then Navigate to ‘advance’ and choose ‘Devlik Wipe Cache’, so you won’t get in any bootloop.
  6. Then Finally Choose Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
  7. Navigate to ‘Install zip from sd card’ another windows will open in front of you.
  8. Select ‘choose zip from sd card’ from the Options.
  9. Select the CM 11.zip file and confirm the installation on next screen.
  10. Once the Installation is Over, Go back and Flash Google Apps
  11. Once the Installation is Over, Select +++++Go Back+++++
  12. Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

TWRP Users.

  1. Tap on Wipe Button and Select Cache, System, Data.
  2. Swipe the Confirmation Slider.
  3. Go back to Main Menu and Tap Install Button.
  4. Locate the CM11.zip, Google Apps and Swipe the Slider To install it.
  5. Once the Installation is Over, you will promoted to Reboot System Now
  6. Select Reboot Now to Reboot the System.

Solve Signature Verification Error:

  1. Open Recovery.
  2. Navigate to install zip from Sdcard
  3. Navigate to Toggle Signature Verification and Press Power Button and See if it is disabled or not. Disable it and then Install the Zip without any Error.

That is it! Just wait for almost 5-minutes, you’ll find your LG Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4 Kit-Kat CM 11 ROM, Go to Settings > About to verify.
