LG is off to a great start if sales of their new flagship  are something to go by. LG over the launch weekend sold 30,000 units of LG G6 and to date 82,000 units have been pre-ordered. LG G5 was not this popular and sole only 15,000 units on the day of the launch. Two factors that worked to LG’s advantage, their new streamlined design and the absence of Samsung’s new flagship. After Samsung’s announcement that they will delay the the launch of Galaxy S8, LG came into motion and decided to bring LG G6 within the two weeks of its official announcement. Now with its launch, LG has 6 weeks to tips sales in their favor till the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes in the market.

Samsung is not going to go down easy, they maybe worried about the impressive sales number of LG G6,  but they will do their best to remind people that ‘good things take time’, To do just this Samsung in an unprecedented move started off their advertisement campaign for Galaxy S8 in South Korea. They want to remind people that they have something good in store as the ‘Next Galaxy‘ is just a few weeks away. An industry analyst claimed,

Samsung’s rare move to release a TV ad for the Galaxy this early appears to (be an attempt to) keep LG from dominating the nation’s premium smartphone market before the S8 rollout.
