Earlier this month, we saw an official unveiling of Huawei P9 and P9 plus. Apparently, Huawei is working on another smartphone which was just spotted on GFXBench. The benchmark lists the Huawei P9 Max with a massive 6.9 inch screen.
Let’s have a look at the listing in detail. The Huawei P9 Max’s screen will offer 1920 x 1080 resolutions while an octa core HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC will power the device. Moving on to an anomaly that exists in the listing, we saw an alleged 4 GB of RAM in the AnTuTu benchmark which came out last year, however the recent test shows just 3 GB RAM. Other features include 32 GB of storage, 16 megapixel rear shooter, autofocus, LED Flash, HDR support, 8 megapixel selfie camera and Full HD video capture support. Last but not the least, the P9 Max will feature Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the Huawei Emotion UI over the top.
If you haven’t heard of the Huawei flagships revealed earlier, the Huawei P9 sports a 5.2 inch 1080 x 1920 pixel LCD display and is powered by the Kirin 955 chipset. This SoC hosts four Cortex-A72 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores. As far as the memory department is concerned, the P9 comes in two different RAM/ROM variants – 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB. Of course, microSD slot is also available for expanding the internal storage capacity. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port, Stereo speakers, 3000 mAh battery and Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1. The Huawei P9 will carry a price tag of $680 when launched in selective countries from April 16th. The handset will be offered in the following colour variants: Ceramic White, Haze Gold, Rose Gold, Titanium Silver, Mystic Silver and Prestige Gold.
Moving on to the larger of the two, Huawei P9 Plus features a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display which offer 1080 x 1920 FullHD resolutions. This variant will feature the same Kirin 955 SoC as its younger brother, however only 4GB RAM and 64 GB of internal storage will be available. Other features include a fingerprint scanner, 3400 mAh battery, USB Type-C port, Stereo speakers and Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1. The P9 Max will set you back precisely $850 when launched in selective countries from April 16th. Similar to the P9, the Max variant will be offered in the following colour variants: Ceramic White, Haze Gold, Rose Gold, Titanium Silver, Mystic Silver and Prestige Gold.
Note that both of the aforementioned flagships feature an identical 12 megapixel dual camera setup. Both of Leica’s rear shooters come with 1.25-micron pixel size and a wide F/2.2 aperture. One of the two optics is used to capture colored pictures, while the other works in monochrome. This monochrome camera is used to snap pictures in black and white while sensing lighting conditions for enhanced and accurate results. In addition to the rear camera, both handsets come standard with the same 8 megapixel front facing camera.
Stay tuned for the latest news.
