As the Mobile World Congress 2015 draws near, we are being updated about what devices will grace the event. To date we know that LG G4 and the Sony Xperia Z4 will be a no show at the event. The new reports out inform that the Huawei Mate 8 (the company is dropping the Ascend name) which many people were speculating to be announced at the event, will not be unveiled at the MWC, but the company will hold a separate event in Q2 for this purpose in Europe.
So what will Huawei be showing us at the MWC? Do they have anything new up their sleeves? It looks as if they do indeed have something, well technically we cannot say it new, the company will be introducing Huawei Mate 7 Compact at the event. Mate 7 Compact will be a bit of a smaller version of Huawei Ascend Mate 7 with a 5.5-inch display. The company will not be making use of Quad HD resolution display as they want to optimize on the battery time and Huawei has criticized Xiaomi for using it. Have a look at Huawei Ascend Mate 7, to get an idea what the compact version may end up looking like.
We do not think so that a change in the display size also means that the company will be downsizing the specifications too. We are hoping that they do not do that. As the rest of the specifications of the Mate 7 Compact are not confirmed yet, from its sibling we can deduce that the device can be powered by HiSilicon Kirin 925 chipset and a 13-meagapixel main camera.
Apart from the rumored Huawei Mate 7 Compact , the company may also unveil MediaPad X2 at the event along with a few affordable LET enabled devices. We will get more information about Huawei’s lineup in the next coming days, so stay tuned.
