Good news for the HTC fans in India, they can now get their hands on the recently launched HTC 620G as it is available on different sites online. This comes as a surprise, as HTC has not officially launched the smartphone for the country and nor were any International launch dates confirmed by the company apart from HTC 620’s launch in January in Europe. We wonder if they are going to officially launch that and spend some money on marketing their latest smartphone.
The newly launched HTC Desire 620G is equipped with a 1.3 GHz octa-core Media Tek MT6592 processor and will run the Android Kit Kat with Sense UI. The device will sport a 5 inch, 720 x 1280 display, an 8 MP rear and 5 MP front facing camera. The smartphone is equipped with dual-sim capability, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory, which is extendable up to 32 GB. HTC Desire 620G is available with different retailers online; SnapDeal is offering it at $253 (15,855 INR) and promises to ship it in 3-5 days.
The Indian smartphone market seems to be the prime focus of manufacturers now, no surprise in that as it is one of the fastest growing markets in the world. It looks as though HTC also wants to make an impact on the consumers by bringing them a well equipped mid-range pricing category smartphone. Smart move on behalf of HTC to launch the HTC 620G, which is the cheaper variant of the HTC 620, both of which were recently launched in Taiwan.
It seems that HTC has understood that a competitive market like India, where companies like MicroMax and Xaomi are manufacturing cheap smartphones with good specifications, they also have to adopt similar pattern in terms of pricing and specifications. But to be successful they have to offer something more in terms of specifications, which sadly they are not doing with this smartphone. The company needs to work on bringing a device which is not only economical but offers advanced specifications than offered in HTC 620G. If they don’t do that then their survival in the Indian smartphone market is highly dubious. Let’s see how the HTC fares in India with their latest offering of HTC 620G.
