Good news for HTC lovers, the new HTC Desire 620, is officially released in Taiwan, its home country. It will be available starting December 1. The confirmed date for its International release is not yet confirmed, most probably it will either be released Mid-December or early January, making it a sweet New Year treat for its fans.
The new smartphone will be released in two versions: the Desire 620 and Desire 620G. HTC in this respect seems to be following the trend set by Samsung and Apple of releasing two versions of a smartphone. The main difference in the two versions comes from the processor capability, desire 620 will be equipped with a 64-bit quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, while its counterpart Desire 620G will be equipped with a 1.3 GHz octa-core Media MT6592 processor.
The rest of the features as per reports released till yet suggest that other specifications of both the versions of HTC Desire 620 are the same. Both the versions will sport a 5 inches, 720 x 1280 pixel display, 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. Both the versions will run the Android Kit Kat with Sense UI and will sport the dual SIM capabilities. The smartphones will be equipped with a 1 GB RAM and 8GB of internal memory. Both the smartphones are equipped with a MicroSD slot, which is imperative given the internal memory size. The Snapdragon can extend its memory to 128GB, while the MediaTek can only extend its to 32GB.
Price wise both the smart phones fall in the midrange pricing category, making it accessible to a larger market. This will most probably prove to be a favorable aspect in the HTC Desire 620’s sale. The Snapdragon model, Desire 620 will cost $225 (6,990 TWD), and the MediaTek one, Desire 620G will be priced at $160.
Although the smartphone does not offer something new, but let’s see how it does performance wise when it gets released in the market.
