This might sound difficult but if the Process is followed correctly, then you will realize that the process is quite easy and successful. In this Article, We will show you How To Triple Boot Your Nexus 4 On Android, Ubuntu Touch and FireFox OS. But before we begin, Make sure that you have battery charged over 60 % and have backed up all your important ContactsCall Logs & Messages.It is highly recommended in case of any mishap or data loss to back up all your important data.

Important things:

  • Your Device must be Rooted and CWM Recovery must be installed on it. 
  • Enable USB debugging mode.
  • Make sure that battery level is at 85% or more.
  • This Tutorial is Only For LG Nexus 4.

How To Triple Boot Your Nexus 4 On Android, Ubuntu Touch and FireFox OS.

Make sure that Fastbboot/ADB is configured on PC. How? How to Install Android Adb & Fastboot Drivers on Your Windows PC [Guide].

Set-Up Multi ROM.

Multi ROM basically consist of three parts, viz MultiROM installation package, modified TWRP Recovery and a Kernel with kexec-hardboot patch. For now these Kernels support kexec-hardboot patch,  franco.KernelTrinity FourBCM KernelAK Kernel and hells-Core.

  • Download Multi ROM patch and desired Custom Kernel from above links.
  • Transfer both of them to a suitable location, where you can remember it.
  • Power off your device and Enter bootloader Mode.How? Press and hole Volume Down + Power button until you see some text on screen.
  • Connect your device with PC.
  • Download TWRP from here, this download is necessary as it is the Modifies version of TWRP.
  • Hold Shift Key and Right Click anywhere in the Current folder.
  • Type the Following Command: fastboot flash recovery TWRP_multirom_mako_20131102.img
  • Once flashed,  donot reboot or exit the bootloader, instead navigate to Recovery.
  • In Recovery, Tap on  Install and Select the multirom-20131005-v16-mako.zip. Now slide the button to start the installation.

 

You Now have Multi ROM Patch installed on your device.

Install Android ROM.

Download any of your favorite Android ROM and Google Apps Package.

  • Now copy and paste the Android zip and Google Apps file to the root of your SD card.
  • Open the Command window and type the Following: adb reboot recovery
  • Tap on Wipe, now select System, data, cache, devlik-cache partitons and slide the button to start the process.
  • Tap on Install and Select the ROM packages and slide the button to start the process.
  • Repeat the above step to install Gapps and other ad-ons if download any.
  • Now it’s time to install Custom Kernel with kexec-hardboot patch, Flash it.

You are now ready to multi boot your device

Install FireFox OS.

  • Download the System Build FireFox OS
  • Download the User Interface flash-able zip
  • Connect your device to PC and Transfer the above downloaded files to your device.
  • Open the Command window and type the Following: adb reboot recovery
  • Tap on advance > Multi ROM >  Add ROM.
  • Set Choose ROM type to Android.
  • Set Share Kernel with Internal ROM to Don’t Share.
  • Now Tap on Next and select the FFOS_mako_20131029.zip.
  • Once again, Tap on Advance > Multi ROM > List ROMs.
  • Tap On FFOS_mako_20131029.zip > Flash zip, select Mako_FFOS-20131010_UI_1.3.zip and start the installation process.

You will now able to Boot FireFox OS along with the Android Custom OS.

Install Ubuntu Touch.

Download the System Image flash-able zip form here

Connect your device to PC and Transfer the above downloaded file to your device.

  • Open the Command window and type the Following: adb reboot recovery.
  • Tap on advance > Multi ROM >  Add ROM.
  • Set Choose ROM Type to Ubuntu Touch.
  • Set Share Kernel with Internal ROM to Don’t Share.
  • Now Tap on Next > Zip file and select trusty-preinstalled-touch-armhf.zip and start the process.
  • Once again, Tap on Advance > Multi ROM > List ROMs.
  • Tap on trusty-preinstalled-touch-armhf.zip > trusty-preinstalled-touch-armel+mako.zip and start the flashing process.
  • Once done, reboot your device.

This will be different than your normal boot, you will have to select the ROM you want to run, select your desire ROM and tap on Boot. The first boot of every ROM will take atleast 5-minutes, so please be patient.
