Smartphones are meant to be smart as long as there’s internet connectivity on it that would help the person to connect to the world. Smartphones are meant to serve almost all computing needs, that a person would do primarily using a laptop. This may include emails, surfing social media websites, watching videos etc. These days, a smartphone is not only used to connect to the internet on it, but a smartphone can also help you to connect your other devices to the internet. Different carriers in different countries offer nice LTE, 3G plans, which are much more faster then an ordinary internet connection. If you have an LTE or 3G enabled smartphone, you can most likely use your data plan to connect your other devices to the internet, this is possible by making your smartphone a WiFi router.

Most of the latest smartphones this capability named as WiFi tethering. Activating WiFi tethering helps your smartphone to act as a WiFi hotspot. You can connect to your carrier’s internet through your laptop or any other smartphone by means of this WiFi hotspot. A high end device like Galaxy Note 4, or Note Edge sure has this feature, but only if you acquire an unlocked one.

Carriers offer Note 4 and Note Edge at a much cheaper on-contract price, but there’s a down-side. Getting your hands on a carrier branded Note or Note Edge will also have certain limitations. While an unlocked handset costs a hefty amount, most of the users go with on-contract carrier branded smartphones. One of the most irritating limit you’re going to face is, carriers lock this WiFi tethering feature in their smartphones, and users’s are not able to use the internet of their smartphone on any other device. This is done by carriers to restrict their users from avoiding the full-swing use of 4G LTE or 3G data plan. Most of the users are not able to finish their data plan because of a very less usage on the smartphone, they can finish their data buckets by consuming this internet on a computer or any other device. This restriction is put by carriers like At&t, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon and others.20140928T043934

  1. Hello Usama M, i read your post and did everything step by step and it worked. My only concern is that when hotspot is enable the internet not work on my note 4 but the hotspot works on other connected devices. How can this issue be solve by allowing note 4 to have Internet and hotspot at the same time instead of going back to settings and changin it back to default. Thank you for your time and effort much appreciated.
