Google has joined hands with LG after two years once again to bring up a sibling of its 2014 flagship, Google Nexus 5. The success of this device, named as Google Nexus 5X is finally out putting a full stop to the rumors and bringing the anticipations to an end. The new Nexus 5X brings a complete new look and upgraded hardware as well. Google Nexus 5X also gave a launch opportunity to Google’s all new Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The all new LG Nexus 5X sports a beautiful 5.2 inch 1080p display. Google used Hexa-core Snapdragon 808 CPU clocked up to 2.0 GHz to power this device up. A RAM of 2 GB is fixed inside and the device will come in storage options of 16/32 GB,there’s no microSD card slot to expand this storage. A camera shooter of 5 MP is fixed on the front while a 12.3 MP with 1.55 micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture is fixed at the back. Google has packed up a 2700 mAh battery inside this device that is supposed to last at least for a day. Nexus 5X also brings the USB Type C support, the device also has a one-tap fingerprint scanner fixed below the camera at its back.
The fingerprint scanner (Nexus Imprint) on Nexus 5X is quite impressive. On Samsung and Apple, users first had to wake up the screen and then tap the fingerprint scanner in order to get beyond the lock screen, things are different and pretty easy on Nexus 5X. On Nexus 5X, you can simply tap the fingerprint scanner, it will bypass the screen by directly unlocking it within a second. The new fingerprint scanner works faster then ordinary fingerprint scanners in use by other manufacturers. Google has made the Nexus Imprint compatible with Android Pay.
Google seems to be putting a lot of hard work on improving the camera of its latest Nexus. The new 12.3 MP camera comes with a larger sensor having f/2.0 aperture and 1.5µm pixels which is way larger then that of the flagship smartphones of the day. Using the new burst shot mode, you can create funny GIFs. The camera on Nexus 5X also brings new slow motion video recording at 120 FPS. Google has embedded all these new features in the new Camera app which is based on the latest Camera 3.0 API having all camera improvements.
As always, this Nexus is also up for sale in the Google Play Store. Users can start placing their orders right away. The base variant which comes in 16 GB storage option will cost around $379 and the 32 GB variant will cost around $429. The Nexus 5X is a 4G LTE supported smartphone, which will be sold in unlocked form and will also work on all major US carriers.
That’s all for now, Stay connected with us to know more about the new Nexus devices.
