Google has just announced Android O developer preview. The developer preview is basically designed to give developers the opportunity of how the latest Android build works with their apps. What are the issues that occur  in terms of design guidelines and the new API’s.

As of yet the beta program hasn’t been announced, that will come later on when things are ‘stable’. To work on the new platform its important that developers get to assess the different features there and what new needs to be done for improving it. With any major Android update what will the new version  offer?

There will be improved notification features. User will now be able to customize the notifications for individual apps. They can now manage what type of notifications they can receive for each app. This will make its easier for the ‘use to see what’s going on’. Along with that there will be limits put to apps running in the background. So, it will allow developers to create and modify their apps which do not leech the battery and improve performance.

With Android O users will get adaptive icons on their smartphones. This feature will allow icon customization so that they fit in adapt accordingly with the different smartphones and interfaces they are with. In addition, the autofill feature will allow user to fill in default info for each app for the different users name and passwords saved. You wouldn’t have to switch to an account manager to just long into an app.

Right now the Nexus 5X, 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel and Pixel XL are the devices that support the new Android build.
