If your Galaxy Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge is having WiFi connectivity issues, there are a few things that you can do to get this issue resolved.

Solution#1: The Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge giving connection failed or unable to connect error might have a wrong date and time on it. To fix this, you can go to settings > time and date > turn on automatic time and date and also select the right time zone. This issue happens when the time on your router is correct and it isn’t correct on your phone.
Solution#2: If your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge is unable to connect to the WiFi in your list, you can try forgetting the network and connect it again. Alternatively, you can try rebooting the router and then connect it again. Hopefully your WiFi connectivity issues will resolve after this.

  3. Navigate to factory data reset option and select it > yes.

Battery drain issue after flashing a new firmware is something more than common as well. This issue has multiple fixes as well. You can check which one seems the best and then apply it accordingly.

Solution#1: Perform a clean installation of the firmware

Clean installation of new firmware is always recommended as it is very important to trash the old files and data. This also includes the battery stats and logs. If you just wipe the phone’s data or perform a factory reset before installing the Android Nougat firmware, chances are less that you will come across battery drainage issues.

Solution#2: Charge battery to 100%, let it drain to 0% and charge it again – Try completing 3-4 cycles.

At times, it takes 3-4 cycles of charging for the battery to regain its average consumption. You can charge the phone to 100% and then let the battery come down to 0%. Once your phone goes off, charge it to 100% once again and let it discharge again. Do this for 3-4 times and let the battery come back on track.

Solution#3: Use battery monitor and kick-out battery hogging application

Samsung has a very nice device maintenance mode in its phones. You can use it to track down the application which is eating up most of your phone’s battery. To do so, go through these steps.

  1. On your Galaxy Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, go to settings > device maintenance > Battery.
  2. Go through a list of applications and checkout which one is consuming the most battery in an hour.
  3. Select the application with the highest usage and then tap “SAVE POWER”.

Solution#1: Clear Cache

  1. Boot your phone into stock recovery.

  3. Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition option and select it > yes.
