Samsung’s rugged series of smartphones and tablets go under the Active umbrella. Samsung is expected to launch a successor of the Galaxy Tab Active. The new Galaxy Tab Active 2 will come out before this year ends. Galaxy Tab Active 2 isn’t going to make a huge shift from the Galaxy Tab Active in the specification department. The rugged tablet will have the same design and dimensions with slightly improved hardware.

The Galaxy Tab Active 2’s information comes from a famous leaksterĀ Ronald Quandt. According to the leaked information, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 will supposedly come with an 8.0-inch TFT display having 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution. Samsung’s own 1.6 GHz Exynos 7880 CPU will power up the tablet. A RAM of 3 GB will be placed with an internal storage chip of 16 GB. There is going to be a microSD card slot as well to expand this memory. Galaxy Tab Active 2 will have an 8 MP shooter at the back and a 5 MP shooter on the front. The home button will accompany the fingerprint scanner as well. This Tab will have an LTE variant as well. An S-Pen will be in place too. Galaxy Tab Active 2 will likely have a 4,450 mAh battery under the hood. Galaxy Tab Active 2 will run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Apart from these hardware specifications, Samsung has something in its house for the corporate customers as well. Galaxy Tab Active 2 will come with a POGO pin receiver in order to make it compatible with third-party accessories. Samsung will also provide a development kit to enable companies to develop workplace applications on the Galaxy Tab Active 2.

As far as the price is concerned, the Galaxy Tab Active 2 is expected to fall under a price range of $500 to $600. Do not forget to take this information with a grain of salt as it’s all rumours at the moment.
