Galaxy S9 could still come with the headphone jack

Everywhere you see, phones have started to come without headphone jacks. From the new iPhone lineup to the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, nearly every manufacturer is determined to get rid of this from their devices, except for Samsung. The company has put a tight leash on the Galaxy S9 leaks so far, but a new rumor claims that it is not ready to get rid of the headphone jack for now.

A source from Weibo states that the Galaxy S9 prototype features a headphone jack, but that is nothing to rejoice about, at least for now. In the final product, Samsung could choose to take out this jack to make room for components that will allow the phone to exhibit better technology in the smartphone industry.

Samsung will also be giving out presents to its loyal band of customers for sticking with the brand even after the Galaxy Note7 battery explosions. As a polite gesture, the rumor states that Galaxy S9 units are going to be bundled with AKG earphones.

There is a possibility that these earphones come with Bluetooth connectivity, and that the headphone jack could be seeing an end on Samsung’s devices, but more leaks will need to come through for that confirmation.

Samsung recently announced the Exynos 9810, which is made on the 10nm FinFET technology. This is going to be the chipset to power the flagship, with US-based models featuring a Snapdragon 845.

Rumors have pointed out that both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are going to be released in March, but earlier prototypes could also mean these phones make an earlier inception in 2018.

If you have yet to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 8, you might want to hold off your purchase and take a look at Samsung’s next beasts.
