The Galaxy Note 8 has only been here for a few months and we’re already hearing reports about a Galaxy Note 9. Well, looking at the popularity that the iPhone X has been accumulating as of late, Samsung will not want to waste time in designing a phone that is better in every way when compared to its predecessor.
According to close sources, the Galaxy Note 9 features the codename ‘Crown’ which honestly reveals very little about the smartphone other than the fact that is going to be Samsung’s crown jewel and the equalizing factor when taking on the 2018 iPhone lineup.
According to The Investor, Samsung is actually proposing a pilot production of the flagship which will take place during the first quarter of 2018. A smartphone parts supplier that has chosen to remain anonymous, has told local news outlet The Bell that components are going to be provided for the phone so that Samsung can carry out this production without any delay.
There is a high probability that Samsung is going to invite a small panel of individuals that will gaze at the Galaxy Note 9 before it is announced later in 2018. The company did the same thing during the MWC 2017 trade show, but the company never officially unveiled the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ during this event; that took plate later in the year during a separate event.
Galaxy Note 9 has been rumored to be the first phone from the company to get an in-display fingerprint reader most likely because the technology would have matured by then to get this security feature. Samsung has also been reported to improve the facial recognition in the upcoming flagship so the average user can choose to use their face or fingers to unlock the device.
There is no exact release date provided, but knowing Samsung, it will probably aim to announce the phone earlier than Apple unveils its 2018 iPhones.
