Fake Samsung Galaxy S8 on sale in China ahead of its official announcement

Well Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the most buzz worthy flagships at the moment. With the official announcement of the device just a few weeks away the leaks and rumors are coming in hot! We have seen different renders, live images, videos and even a knock up of the device appear. Usually dupes/knockoff’s of a product appear after the real product arrives in the market. But with Galaxy S8, that hasn’t been the case, knock off’s have started appearing in the market even before the product has been announced. Earlier this week we saw images of a Galaxy S8 knock off. Now we have another set of mages courtesy of a poster at Weibo, showing a fake Galaxy S8.

The images were posted with the caption ‘Huaqiangbei is being abusive’. Huaqiangbei is known for having many electrical manufacturing plants as well as markets. So, it is probable that Samsung may have a plant there or a component producer or some company has decided to get on to the Galaxy S8 bandwagon by making a similar device.

Another interesting aspect is that the fake Galaxy S8 looks very similar to the one that we have seen in the leaked images with a few changes. Someone may have gotten their hands on a prototype and decided to make the device. As the smartphone is on, we can see that the software is not optimized for the 2:1 aspect ratio display that the device has. If you look closely, you will notice the black sections on both the top and the bottom of the display. In addition to that the Samsung branding can be seen at the bottom bezel, this has not been seen in the leaked images and videos yet. Now we are starting to wonder whether the company branding will be at the front or not.

Samsung will be announcing Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ on March 29th in dedicated events held in New York and London. Knowing Samsung it will be spectacular event and there is a lot riding on this flagship to get Samsung back on track of the premium handset game.
