Facebook is always working on making their platform better. For the past one year their emphasis has been on improving the quality and quality on visual content, especially videos. In this regards, we saw the Facebook Live functionality being introduced which is quite popular among people from different walks of life. Now Facebook has made some more changes that will make watching videos even more convenient. The new Facebook update is introducing features like auto-play with sound, videos expanding to full screen and picture-in-picture mode.

You would be thinking that auto-play is already there, yes that’s true but it beforehand the sound would not play until you tapped on the video. Now as you scroll down your news feed, any video that you come across will start playing with sound automatically. Once you move past that video, the sound fades away and it stops playing. A video recorded in vertical mode will automatically go full screen and you will be able to forward it and see what happens next,

In addition, the videos can also play in minimized picture-in-picture mode, watch the video while you scroll through the news feed to see what your network members are up to. You can even go on watching the video after closing the app. This indeed adds more convenience, you can multitask.

If you feel that this is a function that is bothersome and annoying, you can always switch that function off. You can disable this by putting your smartphone on silent mode, but of you want to switch it off altogether there is  a way to do just that. Go in the setting menu for the Video Feed and switch off this function “Videos in News Feed Start With Sound”.
