Dimensions, Design & Build
With a 5.0-inch 1080p display, OnePlus X becomes a relatively smaller and handy smartphone as compared to the other flagship smartphones around. OnePlus X is sized at 140 x 69 x 6.9 mm (5.51 x 2.72 x 0.27 in) and it weighs at 138 (Onyx) / 160g (Ceramic).
OnePlus X is quite different from OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 in the design and build aspects. OnePlus is now following the footsteps of other manufacturers to give its smartphones a premium look and feel. Front and back panels of this smartphone are all glass gripped by a metallic bezel. There’s another variant of this smartphone which sports a fire-baked ceramic back. The back of this fire-baked ceramic variant has chamfered edges adding to the beauty of this smartphone.
On the right side of this smartphone, we have a volume rocker accompanied by the power key. While on the left side we have an alert slider as same as the one we saw in the OnePlus 2. OnePlus X features a dual SIM slot, one of these slots has the microSD slot there as well.
The 5-inch display on the OnePlus X is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. We have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 CPU clocked at 2.3 GHz powering this device up. Adreno 330 GPU is there supported by a RAM of 3GB. Internal storage begins at 16 GB. A microSD card slot can be found on this device which supports a microSD card of up to 128 GB. As far as the connectivity of this device is concerned, it supports 2.4GHz b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, LTE. A battery of 2520 mAh is fixed inside.
OnePlus X has a 13 MP shooter on its back and an 8 MP shooter on the front. The camera is said to be nearly identical to that of the OnePlus 2. There’s no manual control in camera for now.
OnePlus X runs on Oxygen OS. Oxygen OS was recently unveiled by OnePlus in the recent past. The base of this firmware is Android Lollipop. OnePlus hasn’t added bloatware or any creepy stuff in this OS, you will experience an almost-stock Android thing on this OS. OnePlus has used an AMOLED panel on this device. Since Oxygen OS supports Ambient display, you can now take advantage of this AMOLED panel and enjoy Ambient display to keep a check on your notifications while your smartphone is on rest.
OnePlus will start selling the phone at $249. The price point may attract tons of users to this device. With the OnePlus 2, we started seeing OnePlus following footsteps of other manufacturers putting a hefty price tag on their devices. But with OnePlus X, we once again have a smartphone with top-notch specifications packed inside a very affordable package. OnePlus will start rolling out the invites in the first month, open sales will be following in the near future.
