Before you download the MIUI 10 on your phone, it’s very important to learn what this new software has to offer. The MIUI 10 is a big update. It completely revamps the UI. The Chinese manufacturer has focused on utilizing the larger displays, which is a new trend nowadays. The UI changes make the edge-to-edge displays look better. The MIUI 10 is almost completely different from the MIUI 9.5. Here’s what’s new.

What’s new in MIUI 10?

MIUI 10 – AI Portraits

Your phone doesn’t have to rely on its hardware to take incredible bokeh effect portraits. Xiaomi has added programmed the MIUI 10 to use AI to capture the portraits now. It means, it doesn’t matter what camera your phone has, the MIUI 10 is going to force it to take good pictures.

MIUI 10 – AI Preload

The AI Preload will use machine learning to keep an eye on your application usage trends. It will then reduce the loading time of applications depending on your frequently used applications. AI Preload is something that gives us a reflection of Android P. Xiaomi is already preparing its custom UI to make the best use of new features introduced in Android P.

MIUI 10 – New Recent Apps Menu

The recent apps menu now shows two applications in a row. This has been done in order to make the best possible use of the phones with a large screen-to-body ratio. The 2×2 rows give the display a very nice look and also make room for more applications to appear on the screen. This might reduce the need for scrolling down for every single application now.

MIUI 10 – Support for Mi Home Devices – No third-party application needed now

You can now control the entire Mi ecosystem with the help of your smartphone. You don’t have to install third-party applications to control the Mi smart gadgets. The MIUI 10 has inbuilt support for all the Mi Home Devices. Your phone running on MIUI 10 will have the support out of the box.

MIUI 10 – Navigation Gestures

iPhone X has inspired masses. Google is preparing the Android P which has the Navigation Gestures too. And now, Xiaomi has also added the Navigation Gestures to the MIUI 10. The Navigation Gestures bar replaces the navigation buttons of the phone. You can tap, swipe and slide the slider to perform actions like opening recent apps menu, going back and to open the home screen.

MIUI 10 – Driving Mode

MIUI 10 will optimize the display of the phone to reduce distractions when put in driving mode. It will help the drivers when the navigation is turned on. We have been seeing manufacturers coming up with the best methods to optimize the driving mode. It’s good to see Xiaomi taking an action as well.
