Dimensions for Galaxy S8 leak online hinting at a sleek, compact device

Samsung is hard at work on its next flagship, the Galaxy S8 at the moment. Different renders which leaked last week have shown what we can expect from the device. A new report out at GSM Arena brings to light new information regarding the dimensions of the device. Samsung apparently will be bringing out two variants, Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. The Galaxy S8 Plus, will have a larger display in comparison with Galaxy S8.

The schematics that have been reported through images show that the Galaxy S8 Plus will be wider and taller than Galaxy S7 Edge.  According to the report it will measure 152.38 x 78.51 x 7.94mm. If we go by the given numbers, it means that the Galaxy S8 Plus will sport a 6.2/6.3-inch display.

The Galaxy S8, will also follow similar design direction, as the Galaxy S8 Plus. It will be approximately 2-3mm smaller and wider than Galaxy S7. Given that the company is getting rid of the home button, and increased the screen to body ratio, giving the device a true edge-to-edge display.  A similar design was also seen in the Samsung Display advertisement, adding to the speculation that this maybe a prototype of Samsung Galaxy S8.

One aspect that has been confirmed in the renders seen to date and the current schematics is that Samsung is going to use the edge-to-edge display for both of its Galaxy S8 variants, making it one of the trademarks for its flagships. As far as how true the schematics are to the real design, well we cannot confirm this aspect. As more rumors about the device pop up in the coming days we will get more information about the dimensions of the device.
