Cases for alleged Samsung Galaxy S8 leak

Updates, leaks and rumors related to Samsung Galaxy S8 do not take a break and every day we have something new. To date we have seen different cases and renders which hint to what the device may end up looking like. Today we have another set of cases for Samsung Galaxy S8 which have leaked online confirming few key details that we have seen in earlier reports.

There are two cut outs at the back, one is for the camera and the flash setup and the second cut out beside it is for the fingerprint sensor. As Samsung is ditching the iconic home button which beforehand had the fingerprint sensor, now the new placement for it is besides the camera. Earlier rumors did suggest that the fingerprint sensor will somehow be embedded in the display but all the cases and render seen to date dispel this information. The cut outs at the sides are also consistent. On the left side the cut outs leave space for the power/stand and volume button and on the right side is the cut out for the button dedicated to Bixby, Samsung’s own AI assistant.

In terms of specs, this is what we can expect. The upcoming flagship will be available in two variants, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus which will have a 5.8-inch and 6.6-inch display respectively. Both the devices will have a curved display and the display size being the only difference. It will be equipped with Snapdragon 835 SoC, the first flagship to have this processor on board, along with a 4GB RAM. There is a probability that for the Asian markets there will be a 6GB RAM variant. Galaxy S8 will be powered by a 3000 mAh battery, while Galaxy S8 Plus will be pack a 3500 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will be announced on 29th March in events held in US and Europe. Earlier this week, we did hear that we may see a promo of the Galaxy S8 at Samsung’s MWC event held on 26th February. Samsung is going to be very strategic over how they show the promo as they want to build a hype around their upcoming flagship.
